ravishingravi Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 I also think so. He's a man in hurry but there are still some sane people left in the BJP wh realize that making him the PM candidate will be disastrous for the party not only for 2014 but for years to come as it will polarize many voters against the BJP. Yeah Modi is trying to bulldoze his way through. Thats him, what can you say. I would support his candidature in next elections, if and when this one is secured. My only reasoning here is that NDA should be united this election. There are enough reasons for UPA to be out next elections.
Sachin=GOD Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 Nitish kumar:" dua dete hain jeene ki,dawaa dete hain murne ki. " Wah Wah!!
someone Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 Another thing about Modi is his OBC background. Especially when you compare with several other politicians who make that their core strength and encash on it, he hasn't at all played the OBC card. It is great to see a OBC leader breaking the glass ceiling and establishing himself at the very top. And he has tons of supporters irrespective of the caste. This OBC background could possibly act as the trump card in these elections.
ganeshran Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 Well' date=' I get it your head is still stuck with the dirt. You bring up such irrelevant points and theories. There are many disadvantaged people in India, including Muslims. And among these Muslims, there are many who support Modi, but I get it for you will think they are all evil and fake.[/quote'] If you post bullshyte it is the only thing you are going to get in return. Lets see your breakup of the states Modi is going to win in 2014 and with whose support is he going to reach the magic figure of 272. Except spouting kanspiracy theories, blaming muslims and congress and of course whining, your posts contain absolutely nothing else.
ganeshran Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 I believe he has a decent chance of achieving around 180 for the BJP. Once that happens BJP will have a good chance of forming the govt. Do you mean 180 alone or with pre poll allies? Even if NDA does get 180, how are they going to muster up the remaining 92? Bihar would be out of reach with both parties not going to align with BJP. Kerala has the same problem. In UP both Mulayam and Mayawati would much rather stay in the opposition than support BJP. Mamata and Jaya are those who can afford to support BJP but they will not forge pre poll alliances. JD(S) will not support and BJP itself was just routed in Karnataka. TDP might come on board but it is unlikely that Naidu will win by a landslide. 272 cannot be reached without a big contribution from UP. BJP has not done well in UP for quite some time and things don't look too different this time around. Some of these events may very well happen but it is unlikely that all of them happen. There is anti incumbency against Congress but to take advantage of that, BJP has to form pre poll alliances in states where it is not a player - states like AP, TN, WB etc. Otherwise the chances of these regional parties going to Congress post poll is much higher than BJP even if BJP emerges as a single largest party
ganeshran Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 lulz you have no iota of evidence to hold modi culpable and you didnt answer my question on the credibility of the SIT. if you had half a mind to read the report, this discussion wouldnt even be taking place. i merely pointed out that its 119 seats and not 115, which is a fact. i know that silly word doesnt go down well with your ilk, so continue to make a fool of yourself. its fascinating and lulz even after you read my argument with MTC, you still didnt get out of that post that its gujarat, not gujrat. :phehehe: When was the last time any major politician was convicted for his role in religious riots? Sajjan Kumar was let off, Tytler will eventually be let off. Do you believe that these mass murderers had no role in the 1984 riots? What has SIT done that somehow it is alone the most credible tribunal in India. Why is it that in the world of Modi Bhakts, every source that supports him is gospel but everything that is against him is paid media/biased journos and a Congress kanspiracy Even if you take SIT's word that Modi did his best to control the riots, it still makes him look incompetent that he was not able to bring state wide riots in control. And his fans love to claim his administration skills are better than everyone else.
Sachin=GOD Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 Dear Narendrabhai, Could You Please... ...answer some questions? For 10 years, Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi has chosen to answer with silence—and election victories—the many questions about his role or lack of it in the Gujarat carnage of 2002. He has walked out of TV interviews, glared at interviewers, sidestepped every court stricture. About the only time he sat down with an interrogator was when he faced a member of the SIT in March 2010; his responses are now in the public domain. But Modi still hasn’t answered many key questions. He can start here. Mr Modi, in an interview on March 1, 2002, to Zee TV you said about the post-Godhra riots, “A chain of action and reaction is going on. We want that neither should there be action, nor reaction.” Don’t such statements echo the ‘earth-shaking’ rationalisations offered by Rajiv Gandhi after the 1984 riots? A few days later, you told Outlook (Mar 18, ’02), “You have to remember that communalism runs high in Gujarat—even a small provocation can lead to violence and Godhra was a very big incident.” Did you not stoke that spark when it was decided that the bodies of Godhra victims would be taken to Ahmedabad? You have denied the allegation that you instructed bureaucrats and senior police officers at a high-level meeting (Feb 27, ’02) that “in communal riots, police takes action against Hindus and Muslims on one-to-one basis. This will not do now; allow Hindus to give vent to their anger”—a statement attributed to you on record by then deputy commissioner, intelligence, Sanjiv Bhatt and slain minister Haren Pandya. Why do you think the charge persists? Why did you single out Bhatt and say he wasn’t present at the Feb 27 meeting when you were only asked about those present? Is it true that P.K. Mishra, your principal secretary, asked R.B. Sreekumar, then Addl DG (Intel), to confirm whether Haren Pandya was the minister who had deposed about the Feb 27 meeting to an independent citizen’s tribunal. Did he then, as the allegation goes, ask that Pandya’s mobile number, 9824030629, be tapped? Given the suspicious circumstances of Haren Pandya’s assassination (Mar 26, ’03), and given that many point the needle of suspicion at your administration, what action has been taken to clear your name and find out who his real murderers are? You told the SIT that you came to know from newspaper reports that the BJP had ‘joined’ the call for a Gujarat bandh on Feb 28, ’02, and a Bharat bandh on Mar 1, ’02. For someone so clued into the party machinery, isn’t that a strange lapse? You claimed to the SIT that you had no personal knowledge of the presence of BJP ministers Ashok Bhatt and I.K. Jadeja in the police State Control Room and Ahmedabad City Control Room respectively (Feb 28, ‘02). Doesn’t this show some incompetence on your part? You denied to the SIT that you knew ex-MP Ehsan Jafri—who died in the Gulberg Society massacre—or that he contacted you by phone and requested for help even as the rioters were at his door. Eyewitnesses, though, claim that he had spoken to you. Why do critics persist in arguing that this was a case of personal revenge and vendetta? Did your government slap the Official Secrets Act against whistleblower cop Rahul Sharma because he passed on explosive phone data records to the Nanavati Commission which showed that rioters were in touch with policemen and politicians? The vindictiveness seems to have a pattern, considering the SC’s recent strictures against your government for initiating criminal proceedings against social activist Teesta Setalvad (allegedly for her role in the illegal exhumation of bodies of 2002 riot victims)? Isn’t this also why a 21-year-old custodial death case allegedly involving Sanjiv Bhatt was resurrected and suspension orders issued against him? It is alleged that compliant police officers during the 2002 riots were promoted and those who steadfastly did their duty were sidelined or persecuted. Many such cases have been widely documented and also brought to your attention. What action have you taken in this regard? You denied to the SIT that your ministers were involved in leading any of the violent mobs, but what action did you take when the alleged involvement of people like Bharat Barot, Mayaben Kodnani, Nitinbhai Patel and Narayan Lallu Patel was officially brought to your attention? What stopped you from taking action on the basis of the media footage available on the riots? That said, why didn’t the Gujarat police document the carnage? What action, if any, did you take after Tehelka’s Operation Kalank in which the likes of Haresh Bhatt, Babu Bajrangi and Rajendra Vyas, while narrating their ‘exploits’, implicated you and your administration? Why was no action taken or inquiry held against officers of the executive magistracy, particularly the DMs who failed to initiate prompt action against the rioters, especially from Feb 27-Mar 4, ’02? You denied recommending pro-BJP/VHP advocates for appointment as public prosecutors. Then why was no action taken or inquiry conducted against the DMs who made such biased selections? You often boast that you do not discriminate on grounds of religion. On Sept 9, ’02, as part of your gaurav yatra, you made a speech in which you equated the Muslim relief camps with child-producing centres and used crudities like “Hum paanch, hamaare pachees”. Are you proud of such remarks? It took the Gujarat HC to finally issue a contempt notice against your government for failing to compensate those whose shops were burnt down in the riots? Where was your ‘sadbhavana’ during the last 10 years? The Gujarat HC also had to order the various authorities under your administration to pay for the restoration of the hundreds of religious structures destroyed. Why did the situation come to this? What is your take on the high court blaming the 2002 riots on the “negligence of the state”? How is it that instead of censuring newspapers like Sandesh and Gujarat Samachar—which spread false, dangerous and communal rumours—you actually wrote them letters of appreciation while seeking to ban those who exposed the complicity of your administration in the violence? While you claim to condemn the killings in 2002, your critics argue the reason you refuse to show any repentance for the same is your deep-seated anti-Muslim prejudice. Do you agree? If you really have nothing to hide, why do you refuse to engage with those who have raised such allegations about you? http://www.outlookindia.com/article.aspx?280034  BTW a Modi bhakt has "answered" all the questions - http://blogs.outlookindia.com/default.aspx?ddm=10&pid=2740

dial_100 Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 Cong will definitely lose quite a few seats. It won 22 in UP but this time they are not winning more than 12-15. They won almost everything in AP but this time Telengana will go to TRS whereas in Coastal Andhra and Rayalseema, Jagan Reddy will win much more than Cong. All in all, I expect Cong to lose around 20 seats in AP. BTW the BSP will not lose, in fact I am certain they will gain a few seats - the law and order situation has deteriorated rapridly under the immature Akhilesh and SP will pay for that in 2014. With Cong and BJP both leaderless in UP, BSP will be the only alternative for the people and thus it will gain. 3rd front is anyways a delusion. Nothing is going to come out of it because of the nature of its composition - just imagine leaders like Mamta, Mayawati, Nitish, Patnaik etc working together it will be comedy circus. If BJP/Cong wins anything more than 160 then that party will form the Govt. Period. I see. so let me understand what you are saying. So if congress is on the verge of losing roughly 60-70 seats. They will be at around 150. If at all BJP does slightly better, they might as well get upto 160 mark. So that leaves 140 odd for third, forth and etc. So how in the world you foresee anyone forming government from there on. Both UPA n NDA are losing alliances. Some where I am reading on this thread that even if BJP gets 180 they wont have partners to support for remaining 90 seats. Here you are saying that they could get support of 110+.?? It appears bit difficult in reality. That leaves the option of congress supporting others from outside in a khichadi sarkaar. I strongly feel that it will be a hung parliament. Tax payers money will be wasted this time. Or we will have early elections by 2015 or 2016. I thought Lalu is gone but there is no shortage of Lalus in indian polity.

If BJP/Cong gets 160 then they would need around 110 - BSP,AIADMK,JDU,TMC,SP,Left, Jagan Reddy etc - any 4-5 out of these (besides the current partners i.e. Shiv Sena and SAD for BJP, NCP for Cong) would be enough to form a Govt. There's 0 chance of a hung parliament. All the regional parties (whether those who are in power currently or those who are out of power) are hungry for more and apart from a few parties which won't support BJP for some reasons, almost all of them would just jump at an opportunity to support the party with the highest seats as long as they get a few ministries. Now there's nothing like ideology left in politics so hung parliament won't happen. Besides, leaders of nearly all the regional parties have got CBI after them so if they get any chance to be a part of the Govt they will do it because who knows what will happen if there are fresh elections.
