FischerTal Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 i don't think the media or congress or people outside gujarat understand that modi will never apologise for 2002 as long as he remains active in politics. whatever happens in national elections, the people of gujarat (hindus only) take pride what happened in 2002 (due to history of muslim dadagiri, many who were involved in smuggling and murder, gangs) and will become turncoat if modi apologizes. for many gujarati hindus, 2002 was a lesson for the muslims to put them in their place. modi is guilty of murder but is now untouchable especially in gujarat. i have always maintained, SC and congress had the chance to nail modi in his early days, but snoozed through and now face a monster. and putting modi behind bars will turn the focus on 1984. SIT says he is not.

Modi tweeted the link to his interview with Reuters saying, "In our culture every form of life is valued & worshipped. This came as Modi faced immense criticism after his interview to Reuters in which he said he is a Hindu nationalist as he is born Hindu. "I am nationalist. I'm patriotic. Nothing is wrong. I am born Hindu. Nothing is wrong. So I'm a Hindu nationalist. So yes, you can say I'm a Hindu nationalist because I'm a born Hindu," he told Reuters. The Congress was quick to react to the Bharatiya Janata Party leader's statement and said Modi's words are "totally against the idea of India". "Thousands of people were killed in the communal riots in Gujarat in 2002 and in the backdrop the analogy used by Narendra Modi needed to be strongly condemned. There is no place for such a comparison in civilised India," party General Secretary Ajay Maken said on Friday. The CPI(M) also lambasted Modi for "justifying and trivialising" the 2002 riots, saying he was not ready even now to express regrets for it. "It is utterly shameful that he is justifying the genocide and using inappropriate examples and analogies to trivialise the enormity of it," senior CPI(M) leader Brinda Karat said. Hitting out at Modi for making this comment, Congress General Secretary Digivijaya Singh tweeted, "Shouldn't we all be Nationalist Indians rather than Hindu Nationalist or Muslim Nationalist or Sikh Nationalist or Christian Nationalist?" Minority Affairs Minister Rehman Khan also condemned the statement saying, "There is nothing called Hindu or Muslim nationalist, there is only Indian nationalist." Religion has no identity. Nation has an identity. Nationalism falls in a different category than religion." :hmmm:

It is terrible to see how Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi's interview to the Reuters is being misinterpreted and an effort is underway to create an unnecessary public confrontation. Never did Modi mean that he had done things absolutely right in 2002 by executing the minorities. He said he had made the best use of the situation and the resources he had at that point of time. Who are the secularists trying to fool? The common man is more educated than what they perceive them to be, one believes.

It's on the level of propaganda which Nazis had against Jews. Everything he does or doesn't do, gets presented negatively. Nazi would have been proud of Congress and its so called secular gang/media on what they have done. Not a mention of Hindus victims and then some wrong statistics, yet they brand themselves as secular. You want to fault (even wrongly) a person for something, at least fault him wholly not selectively. So if anything, these haters should be on him being anti Hindu/Muslim. But as expected their propaganda is all on one group and shows everything wrong in India with everything focused on one group, while the rest doesn't get a mention. I remember a new channel once decided to make one secular based on calculations for positive marks for mentions of "Muslim" and negative marks for "Hindu" mentions in a person's speech. And that's the harsh and unfortunately reality.
