Cricket in India has a bigger following than politics. Do you know the minister for foreign trade? I do not. I know srini and shukla though :hatsoff: If they can mix politics with killing people I see no reason with us mixingpolitics with sports. Kasab is atleast in prison. we have only hanged on person in the past 10 years. That guy's case went for around 10 years and he asked for reprive from President as well. Kasab will eventually be hanged once all appeal process is over. Hafeez on the other hand is roaming free in Pak and challenging India and US.

Only the most naive would think that sports and politics don't mix. They do and thinking otherwise is being way too simple minded. How do you expect sports to carry on when country A is embarking on terroristic actvities against country B whereby hundreds of citizens of country B have lost lives? As for sports & politics not mixing let me remind you of Munich 72, Apartheid in SA and attack on SL cricketers in Pakiland. National interest trumps all and should be above everything else including sports. What do you say to a person who lost his/her loved ones in the 26/11 terrorist attack when Pakis are playing India in Mumbai? That it's ok and it's only sport? A nation has to put pressure any which way it can to ensure its self interest. It worked in the case of apartheid and we should do the same. Cricket is the most high profile sports and this is where we can hit & hurt Pakis hard. We rule cricketing world and we should make the most of it to put pressure on Pakis. Another objection I have about resuming the ties now is that if we resume the ties now why did we have the embargo in the first place and what exactly has changed for us to change our stance now? It will make us look like a soft state, which we are by the way, and a fool where we can't even hold on to our own stance. Others will simply have a good chuckle at our expense. I know you and other fans are looking forward to Indo-Pak cricket but national interests, security of our nation and self-respect has to come first.

There are talks that MMS will be traveling to Pakistan for a state visit sometime later this year, the first visit by an Indian PM post Vajpayee's visit. Surely all this talk of bilateral series is related to that. I will not be surprised if our team is forced to even tour Pakistan for a short series as a good will gesture by our brain dead politicians.

Pakistan fans still hate India and particularly one group of people starting with H. 2. Indian fans would be divided but the overall consensus would be built on "aman ki aasha" 3. IF another attack happens, it changes the whole environment back again. It is fans who decide if they should come. Sadly many have short term memories and suddenly are believing again in the "aman ki aasha". Look, nothing wrong in wanting peace but that does not mean peace comes through playing cricket together. Peace comes through stopping all those terrorist attacks and stopping the infiltration. No point and logic, in believing that cricket will help both countries relationship as that is not correct. As the only positive is for Pakistan side only, which is they are going to get a free money for no obvious reasons. And the less said about the hatred of their players + fans for majority of our public due to religion.
