I don't think it's possible to reduce two rounds. The current format is just about perfect for top players as well as fringe players to slug it out. It's just a very good balance currently. The top players complaint is more with respect to ATP tours than Grand Slams. It's a totally different issue.

Paes and Venina, playing on Court No. 2, won 6-2, 6-2 in 57-minutes. In contrast, Bopanna and Zheng were thoroughly outplayed 6-2, 7-5 by their more experienced and higher-ranked rivals. The 10th seeds were broken thrice in the opening set itself which Bryan and Raymond won in just 21 minutes. In the second set, which lasted a little over half an hour, break points again proved decisive as Bryan and Raymond converted both the chances they earned to emerge triumphant.

Cricketics Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 At Hamburg, another Early round loss for our Indian pair of Bhupathi/Bopanna against Frech pair which had Giles Simon in it. Meanwhile, Leander Paes is on to something special. He is leading a side of Washington Kastles World team tennis team which is on a winning streak of 23 games. That is a something really special and is going down in Washington D.C sports history as one of the biggest achievement in sports. I hope he can take this form to the Olympics with his younger partner Vishnu Vardhan.

Cricketics Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 Time for Bopanna to go back to his old partner or find a new one. The experiment is over and so is the Olympics. I would love to see Bopanna/Vishnu together at the US OPEN.
