Is it a coincidence that an arrest warrant is issued for him on an old case just as he is announced to be a prime minister nominee. The judiciary is moving against the elected government with an agenda to destabilize it.

A guy gets nominated to take the place of Gilani and a warrant suddenly pops up against his name. Surely its not a coincidence. There is a direction given from someone (presumably higher up) to proceed against him now. This is exactly why this sort of witch hunt is dangerous and weakens democracy. My theory is that this sudden proactive action by the judiciary is to shift the focus from the Arsalan corruption case and the reaction suggests that the strategy is working

You know 2 days ago when he was nominated everybody had first thing in mind was the concern over him because of that as action against him was bound to happen in next few days, so better they did it today against one ordinary assembly member instead of doing it tomorrow tomorrow against Prime Minister. Also your perception about Pakistani judiciary quite understandably looks impressed by media elements working against it but for Pakistani people current judiciary is one real hope. Also as I said earlier judiciary rather gave current govt infinitely many chances to move on respectfully... But when Zardari is The Boss, what do you expect? Believe me this tenure of PPP govt was the worst in Pakistan history... You plz just wait and watch, only 4-6 months left, once it ends;there will be 100s of scams to be opened (the real ones, not politically motivated)... As for as Arslan case is concerned, no point in trying to move focus away from him because it was rather Supreme Court and his Dad Ch. Iftikhar himself who took all the initiative against him, more importantly main culprit in that case is Malik Riaz who trapped Arsalan & tried to hijack judiciary via blackmailing his dad but because of extra ordinary efficiency shown by CJ, it all backfired on him... “Malik Riaz” one long story within himself…

Now its saving its skin by going at the government. The CJ took the initiative because he didnt have a choice, the order passed by the bench is one which will be forgotten. Do you believe that the CJ's son will actually be punished for the bribes that he got? If the SC knows that Zardari is corrupt, why not directly persecute him? There were plenty of kickback allegations against him during the time Benazir was PM. This merry go round of disqualifying PMs only weakens democracy and doesnt let the government function effectively.

CJ of course had the choice AT THAT TIME to avoid taking any action because not even a single document or person holding any evidence was yet appeared publicly; he took whole action just on the bases of one youtube video interview. As for as punishing Arsalan is concerned; Judiciary did the best possible thing, after a short enquiry , they haned him and Malik Riaz over to govt missionary for all further investigations, they doing it themselves wouldÃ×e never satisfied everyone, me and you then wouldv been blaming them either going over-harsh or too lenient against CJ son but again I think u still hav not followed anything about Malik Riaz, king of whole episode; a zillionaire he is, who used to buy literally ANYTHING including highest govt officials or media at any level or whatever he ever wanted but for the first time when he found judiciary under current CJ not on sale at ANY price, he executed whole this plan which he was playing since 3 years, involved CJ son to eventually hijack the judiciary and blackmail CJ to take result of on-going cases against him in his favor but it all failed, CJ & judiciary respectfully survived; things happening now or next are secondary, though still very important. Why judiciary not taking action against Zardari well, what else Gilani was removed for? :) According to law judiciary canÃÕ directly investigate any sitting president, they can only ask or order parliament and Prime Minister to take action against president which they were doing, asked Prime Minister x number of times but he denied them same x number of times, PM literally humiliated and ridiculed judiciary and because of that very rightly received contempt charges and then disqualification. Now Democracy in Pakistan: itself a long debate; some other time :) I am ofcourse not against it but u simply cant imagine what these so called "elected representative" do with country and why every time people rather celebrate when army takes over. It is still absolutely not matured enough like u have in India, not mainly because of army but because of their own horrible performance every time and not having any ability to deliver. Now once again its having a new begining so at this phase, they definitely need some strict check & balance like THIS with some surety that army is not coming. Things right now in Pakistan are no doubt disastrous by all means but due to some factors (includes judiciary somewhere at top) people have some good hopes for future Lets see :)
