His fake accent is a clear give away and the very fact that coming from a country that isn't respected as a cricketing nation-maybe in the limited overs format but not so much overall, I think he tries harder to hang in there. ....very much reminds me of paki politicians who try a little harder to seem relevant in world politics

Not Many cricketers we find of such background.

He sounds like a desi call centre employee providing support for some obscure product trained to speak in a fake accent to handle irate calls from Americans.

Clearly it is not Subcontinental,so maybe let us conclude that it is a specialised Trinity College-Kandy accent. Anyways this is about how he carries himself,Tries too hard and that is my personal opinion....Wasn't that Ranatunga's biggest struggle besides his weight of course to have SL respected as a cricketing nation? I guess Sanga is from the same school of thought-Tries too hard to standout from some of his speeches I have seen and obviously the fact that his on-field antics and his overall bitterness shows that. Anyways I still think he is a fantastic cricketer and he is already an ATG
