someone Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 From the debate in another thread, I was surprised by how many just blamed Pakistan for everything wrong and entirely them for all terrorist attacks. I mean when exactly are we at fault? Are we never at fault? Main questions I want your opinion are, 1. Why do we never consider ourselves at fault for those attacks. After all, had we been internal strong, those external threats could have been prevented. Just look at USA and Israel. They don't whine but rather do actions. 2. What exactly do we even accomplish why demanding Pakistan to take the blame? Does it really solve anything? It's a total misconception if anybody believes Pakistan has the solution for India's problems.

It's a total misconception if anybody believes Pakistan has the solution for India's problems. 1. We are not strong enough to withstand other countries. If we go to war with pak, that lunatic country might use nukes, others like China or US may even start a war with us. 2. Moi and i assume many dont really care if pak accepts it which is absurd when it claims that it didnt even know that osama was chilling out near its military compound. It is a misconception that you believe that we think that pakistan can solve indias problems when its only identity is creating it for us. ISI, their countries spy agency, were involved in terrorist attacks. That is the main difference between 7/7, 9/11 and mumbai.

Asking Pakistan to dismantle its terrorist camps and asking its ISI to stop training terrorist to attack India is that really that unreasonable?
Crookbond Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 Asking Pakistan to dismantle its terrorist camps and asking its ISI to stop training terrorist to attack India is that really that unreasonable? If they don't, asking our country to build better & stronger defense mechanisms that no f**** country in the world can attack us - Is that unreasonable? Why rely on the mercies of the "great ones"? Oh yea - because all we can do is crib, scam etc. When it comes to taking it head on with concrete actions to control ourselves we can't.

Crookbond Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 Both countries have to get better and that's why I have said I wanted stronger economic and political ties Its not all Pakistan both sides can and should do a lot better JJ - It is still OUR responsibility to protect our people with or without the help of others. For example, in my daily life I always prepare for the worst situation with no assumptions. In India's case, we will keep crying for the best case (co-operation from Pakistan) but never prepare for the worst case. While it will be wonderful if Pakistan cooperates at will, it would also be very dumb of us not be vigilant with or without any external support. This is what separates the good institutions from the bad.
saneindian Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 While I do agree that ISI and Pakistan have often been used as an easy excuse to hide our own inefficiencies, can we deny that state elements from that country have a one point agenda of causing harm to India? Why does it happen that every time we break the cricket ties with that country shouting about some solid on the ground action against anti India elements, but in the end go back and start playing with them again without any action from their side. Happened in 90s when we stopped playing, resumed ties with them in 1997 and Kargil happened, attack on the parliament happened and the two nations were close to a nuclear war. We again forgot everything and resumed playing with them in 2004. Ended up with 26/11. 3 years on and suddenly we find its good enough to play them again ironically at a time when their courts have rejected every evidence given against their state actors in 26/11. What did we lose by not playing in these 3-4 years or when we didn't play them earlier, nothing except for the romantics cribbing about being denied the chance to wacth Sachin play against 2 Ws at their peak. What do we gain by playing them once again, absolutely nothing again except for a lot of money for an already cash rich Indian board.
someone Posted July 18, 2012 Author Posted July 18, 2012 Exactly, it's our own responsibility. And really it is own in our own hands. It is stupid of everyone if they expect Pakistan to help us. It's really pathetic that many indian public have similar though like yours on how the responsibility is never their own. You are no different from the politicians in reality.
surajmal Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 Love the self defeatist attitude. Another human being wants to kill me, so I must be at fault. Colonization of the mind is complete. Shabaash mere desh vasiyon.

When he harms him then cry only about enemy's fault. :winky:

However to lay the entire responsibility on the people of this country is simply counter productive. United States internal security situation prior to 9/11 was miles better than present India yet they couldn't stop 9/11. The point is you can get your internal situation in order all you want but unless you are willing to take the fight to you adversary, it makes no difference.

surajmal Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 and who did that? OP Why do we never consider ourselves at fault for those attacks.

However to lay the entire responsibility on the people of this country is simply counter productive. Who said entire responsibility? It is all about responsibility itself. Majority right away blame Pakistan on those attacks. We simply distract our own shortcomings designed to prevent these attacks. That's simply not going to solve anything. And you cannot expect another country to solve all those attacks on your own country. And we make it sound like if Pakistan does something, it will solve everything. The responsbility always start with us. That's the key thing.
ravishingravi Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 Wait!! What. I can't believe he said that with straight face.
someone Posted January 14, 2013 Author Posted January 14, 2013 Similarly thing happening today. India sending tons of proof of evidence to Pakistan to provide justice for their injustice activities. When will we grow from that and accept that nothing will happen with just complaining. Why complain all the time? We need to change that stance.

NareshK Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 You cant really compare the situation of US with India because our nations are in different environments. US can go into Afghanistan and Pakistan to hunt for terrorists because 1)they have the military power and the economic power to do so and can withstand the losses from it. India is still a developing country and we cant afford to spend billions of dollars in an operation like this. 2)India is living right next to Pakistan and in case of a nuclear war, there will be thousands if not lakhs of people on either side of the border who will be killed. The consequences of such an event will be devastating and unrecoverable. Its very important that India improve its internal security as much as possible and prevent terror attacks on its soil. Other thing that India is rightly doing is put pressure on Pakistan to own responsibility of terror attacks and dismantle terror groups in their own country, failing to do so would result in their own destruction by these groups which we are already witnessing. Sooner rather than later, if Pakistan doesnt learn its lesson, they need to get their bottom spanked really hard to get them to stand back in line.
