Conditions were overcast throughout.Yes toss plays a part but you need to overcome that like england did in tests. We also had dhoni dropped by misbah .
Yeah, you need to overcome it. I already said defensive technique should have been better. But that doesn't mean you deny that it was a big disadvantage either. Conditions weren't the same throughout. Were far worse when the game began.

I am pretty sure even if we bowled first we would not have got pakis in the situation they did. They had guys bowling at 140ks and swinging it .excpet bhuv our guys cannot do that. Our strength has been spin and our partimers but partimers were exposed agianbst pak.

The problem with Indian captains is they dont persist with the 5th bowler. If he goes for runs in an odd game which usually happens on flat tracks, he will be dropped. Its because of lack of bowling options that India always struggles to defend totals in T20 and ODIs. Unless they score 20-30 runs more than par which doesnt happen often, they will always struggle.

He could have lost his stumps too like the top 4. Having said that' date=' I would play him ahead of Rohit, Gambhir & Sehwag.[/quote'] he may have got bowled too but at least he is young and can learn from it. It does not look good when your experienced batsmen get out like this to inexperienced opposition bowlers. and whatever we have seen so far of rahane, he looks much better player of fast bowling than others like gambhir, sehwag, rohit etc

Yuvraj could be a decent option against non SC teams. SC teams pick him quite easily and he will be easy to hit because he bowls at least one or two long hops an over. Same with Jadeja. Against SC teams, there should always be an extra seamer than a spinner. Better if he can also bat a bit like Irfan.
Good point, but then needed someone like Irfan for balance.

Our ODI and T20 team's are hardly struggling, tbf.

Agreed great point.

I'd rather replace Gambhir/Sehwag than Rohit. Rohit Sharma can still come good, Gambhir and Sehwag are at the end of their careers. In the long run, it makes more sense sticking with young talent than over-the-hill legends.
Sehwag will still manage to do well in 1 or 2 matches. Preferring Gambhir over Rahane was a very poor decision.

That's because our main bowlers struggle when they have to take quick wickets in that situation. Hardly can expect the 5th bowler to be a strike bowler.
But most likely he wont give away easy runs and ease the pressure. In ODIs, tight bowling is also important for getting wickets.
