Umesh Yadav - As brainless as ever

Recommended Posts

Yeah, that means Malinga's faster balls are on average quicker than Yadav's. Since Malinga bowls a lot of slower stuff his average speed is down. I am not a great fan of sped over others. But definitely there is something fishy about the speed guns in Pakistan series and this one. Today Perera was hitting Dhoni's bat, but speed recorded as 122k, which is strange. You could not hit bats of international players with that pace.
umesh was hitting 145ks today.

Doesn't matter much. malinga was hitting 144k' date=' and Sami was clocked at 148k. Gul and Khan were clocked around 142k-143k. Still I haven't seen any evidence of Indian bowlers being notably quicker than Pakistani ones.[/quote'] gul are junaid 120k trundlers umesh is quicker than sami malinga if u want proof u should start watching cricket

Not sure about the speedometer but his radar is completely broken.
It is not like he is wayward like Zaheer has been. There is nothing like Radar is completely broke. It is just that he is an aggressive bowler and in trying to take wickets tries too many things. He rarely bowls wides like Zaheer bowls or giving leg byes on pads.

I can't make out whether some of the comments on this thread are sarcastic? Here is a bowler who gets pasted every single time he plays an ODI - not some ordinary hammerings, but goes for 7 an over on a regular basis and has a career economy rate of 6.3 and people are busy discussing and arguing over whether he bowled 142.98 or 142.97 kmph. It's one thing to get excited about speed if there is performance to back it up like a quick spell from Steyn or Marshall, but when a bowler is delivering junk does it really matter if he is shipping garbage at 135 kmph or 145 kmph? Everyone knows Yadav is quick, whether he bowled some delivery at 149.8 or 145.7 who really cares if it was smacked away.

we need guys like him too improve... why cant we learn from south africa or england ? look at how they manage there bowlers its time people understand tht no one is gonna find bowler who bowls like steyn from our domestic system hell even steyn gradually became bowler he s today so if yadav is dropped now (which is justified ) what next ? will he be forgotten and jsut sent to ranji sides and asked to improve on his own ? i cant see how this will help him..it has never helped any bowler...it works in england we see bowlers with potential being dropped people like finn constantly improving but for some reason in inida its two steps forward then one back

Yadav did rubbish in OD cricket at state level. What did people expect of him in ODI cricket? Magical improvement?
Yes, this is the main point being overlooked. Much more realistic to expect good ODI performances from a Varun Aaron (for example) who averages sub 20 domestically, rather than Yadav who goes at 40+.

He will recover for CL and will be injured after the tourney

But I don't even see him that fast either. You know what if you are so damned fast at least bowl a phucking beamer and take down a batsman. At least that way you can take a batsman down if not take the wkt but Umesh is not even fast enough for that. Hell he's a poor man's Sami at this point and this says it all.
