Ultimate_Game Posted July 28, 2012 Posted July 28, 2012 This. Also Dhoni is still a good LOI captain. But he shouldn't be the Test captain. And Fletcher needs to go! :two_thumbs_up:
SLICKR392 Posted July 28, 2012 Posted July 28, 2012 Before you go on to blame him and his captaincy. Look at the team he is dealing with. If he gives Tiwary or a Rahane a chance and they eventually fail..then the same folks out here who blame him for not giving others a shot, will start criticizing his selection. And again, am not a MSD fanatic. About test matches -Yes, he isn't a good test player and also might not be a good captain. People who talk loud about his defensive field setup after so and so over has got to look at our spineless bowling attack. If he gets 3-4 slips at 30-60 overs doesn't mean that our bowlers will get us tons of wickets. Nothing much went wrong until that retarded fat a**, Fletcher, showed up. Aus-Eng were all about our monkey brained batsmen and bowlers rather than the captain, though he did have a hand in those losses. And FFS..get over the Jaddu business. Most of us are here are missing him more than MSD himself.
saneindian Posted July 28, 2012 Posted July 28, 2012 But we're still winning matches. Aren't we? Away from home, India have already lost 4 back to back ODI series (forgets the tests for a moment) - in SA, Eng, Aus and Asia Cup under MSD. At home, anyone can catain the side and we will win against most sides (Gauti 5-0 vs NZ, Sehwag 4-1 vs WI etc). By extending his captaincy tenure, Dhoni is hurting his own legacy. Won't be long before he gets thrown out from the captaincy.

Amongst the series you mentioned the defeat to South Africa was a close one. The closest we have come in any of the tours.
Executioner Posted July 28, 2012 Posted July 28, 2012 dhoni is still the best player to lead India. If gambhir becomes captain, raina will be dropped and in his place Sir Rajat Al Jacques Bhatia Sobers Will play
ravishingravi Posted July 28, 2012 Posted July 28, 2012 Almost lost the match today for India. But I still think he should be in the team. His captaincy is unsustainable. We need fresh leadership.
Old guy Posted July 28, 2012 Posted July 28, 2012 dhoni getting back his luck again :hitler: see the correlation.. vinay gets out luck is back :woot:
J P K Posted July 28, 2012 Posted July 28, 2012 see the correlation.. vinay gets out luck is back :woot: salaa it was jaddu not vk look at our bowling none of our bowler look motivated to bowl well our bowler`s lack Vk skill and guidance

CG Posted July 29, 2012 Posted July 29, 2012 We all know why we lost to Bang in Asia cup and to mention that again would be just attracting some unwanted attention. Coming to the CB series' date=' IIRC MSD got banned for a match and then there was the tie where we played one ball less. Those 2 matches if won would have put us in the finals.[/quote'] Like we would have beaten australia in finals in cb series.

Sidhoni Posted July 29, 2012 Posted July 29, 2012 Like we would have beaten australia in finals in cb series. You never know. We had beaten them in group stage too.

But the problem of losing away matches existed even before MSD was appointed captain. For the bold part, we all know how weak are the teams of NZ and WI. That is why many players were also given rest.
Needforspeed Posted July 29, 2012 Posted July 29, 2012 This is the way Dhoni always played. When he was winning everyone used to call him 'Captain Cool' and now that he has lost a couple of series the same thing becomes 'disinterested'. Actually Dhoni's style hasn't changed.
Crookbond Posted July 29, 2012 Posted July 29, 2012 wtf man!! u comparing that side with this side' date=' lets not bring ganguly into this, that time there was no raina,dhoni,kohli..india werent great in odis that time, yuvraj was inexperienced , he had likes of dinesh mongia nd kaif in the middle order..he still did a fine job as captain, india reached finals of all tournament for 5 years.....dont compare in such lines.....and we lost 3-0 in england thats not a close result[/quote'] Do you even read which post I replied to? The post mentioned winning at home "is a stroll in the park". If that was so, we should have won most series in India - forget the tri-series what about the bilateral ones? West Indies 2002, England 2001, Pakistan 2005 And how did suddenly we won most of home games with the same Kaifs and Yuvraj's under Dravid? Also, let us not get into these subjective team comparisons - the team Ganguly had was quite decent. So my point still stands - winning at home is not "easy". We wouldn't be pawning SL time and again if it was that "easy" to win at home. So, don't belittle achievements here!
