Chandan
Mumbai team is as follows: Wasim Jaffer (capt), Vinayak Mane, Sahil Kukreja, Hiken Shah, Vinit Indulkar, Abhishek Nair, Omkar Gurav (wk), Avishkar Salvi, Rajesh Verma, Iqbal Abdulla, Vikrant Yelligatti, Prashant Naik, Ajinkya Rahane and Nilesh Kulkarni. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bombay does not seem to have a strong team with two of its main pace bowlers doing international duties and their young batting hope busy in ODIs and T20s as well. Even Majumdar is busy playing league cricket in England. Link to comment

And now Jaffer is out as well Posted online: Tuesday, August 21, 2007 at 0000 hours IST Mumbai: The Mumbai cricket team scheduled to play in the Mohammed Nissar Trophy against Karachi Urban in Pakistan next month received a set-back with skipper Wasim Jaffer dropping out due to an injured knee. With Amol Muzumdar committed to club cricket in England, the Indian Test opener had been appointed captain last week. “Wasim will not go to Pakistan, he had called and told us about his knee injury on Sunday. He needs at least five weeks to recover fully,” Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) joint-secretary Hemant Waingankar told The Indian Express. The stylish opener will be replaced by middle-order batsman Bhavin Thakkar. The new captain will be named on Tuesday, according to Waingankar. Left-arm spinner Nilesh Kulkarni has the experience of leading the team before and seems to be the best bet. “Having Jaffer makes a huge difference. But last year too we were without key players and managed to win, so we’re hoping for the same,” Mumbai coach Praveen Amre said. --------------------------------------------------------- Hasn't Kulkarni joined ICL?
