That's almost $100 million' date=' a lot of money for our country. Is it worth it ?[/quote'] 100 million is a bargain, a similar US mission would run into billions.

Is it worth it ?[/quote'] Better to invest in technology rather than depositing it in swiss :two_thumbs_up: Our investment in ISRO has already started paying of through its commercial wing which puts other countries satellite in orbit for a price. Antrix made a profit of around 1000 crores a couple of years back. We should never lag behind technology. We might have to pay a huge price later on.

I'm on the same page, the question in my mind and more so with the critics of any advanced space (and defense) programme is whether to invest into tech that's intending to mitigate current problems. There should of course be some benefits from this investment by means of innovations that also improve everyday life.

Although in hindsight, a better investment would be on improving Internal security, survillance, Cyber Crime monitoring etc. Not to mention the sucide commiting farmers and many others (especially when you are taking billions of £s & $s in aid from UK and USA)...

the goal of the indian mission is to explore and investigate the conditions for life, water, microbes on mars and similarities to the conditions of life, water and microbes in the slums of Dharavi, mumbai, per the scientists if life has a chance in the slums then it should be abundant on mars.

This money will also end up in Cayman or swiss bank. Better to send a rocket to mars
