I havent looked but do i need a different than normal DVD/Blu Ray player to play 3D movies also can I play normal 3D movies which were downloaded from you know where ? :giggle: Im very excited to get one, I have been waiting for a 3D tv since I saw shiva in 1984 but till 6 months ago they were overpriced and didnt even have a full web browser. Now its seem like a finished product. Ram Posted August 5, 2012 Posted August 5, 2012 I have a 42' 3d TV. Works good enough for me. However, if you are debating the size 42 should be the minimum. Its wifi enabled so I can access my Netflix account directly too. The general rule of thumb - larger your living room, bigger the TV dimensions.

EnterTheVoid Posted August 5, 2012 Posted August 5, 2012 Not worth it, I would go for the LED TV's instead. The 3D feature is complete bullshit, there are hardly any shows/cinemas that utilise the technology to its maximum potential.

My idea to buy a 3dtv was geared more towards in the hope that when they start broadcasting sports events like the NBA in 3d its gonna be awesome! :woot: If you have kids, like little ones like you do, I'd say 3d tv is s good investment. Most animation movies are 3d these days.

I remember in aus they had few 3d channels on foxtel.

Hmm well we can only go to drive ins as my daughter is just 2 years old so we try to enhance the movie experience at home as much as we can. 3D at 1500+ was a little too much to pay for 3D glasses but now I can pick up a 45' Samsung with all the apps and browser for under 1k, and even the glasses dony need batteries etc like they did till couple of Yeats ago.

Desi Cartman Posted August 6, 2012 Author Posted August 6, 2012 Ok bought the lg 47 3d, now the problem is that I had to move 50 inch to my bedroom and it's a little too big even for a good size bedroom Btw these new TVs rock. I spent 2 hrs on it and have not tested even 1/3 features.

Don't pay extra cash for "features" which you can live without.
vvvslaxman Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 Good decision to go with Plasma :two_thumbs_up: . Plasma is still the best for PQ. Especially for 3D it is even more preferable.
