Srikkanth has hurt VVS Laxman: Sourav Ganguly

He was always a "politician". I hope he remembers he dropped Laxman from the 2003 WC team without communicating to Laxman. Quite ironic for him to ask for the same.
Kumble ' date='Dravid have also retired recently, but you dont see them passing statements like Gangu Teli does every odd day. This moron has very quickly forgotten he was part of this very team and setup 3-4 years ago.[/quote'] He's simply losing respect. He was well regarded by Indian fans but if he continues in a similar vein people will start treating him like Bedi :giggle:

People are trying to prove Dhoni should bat as a proper batsman.:giggle:
A wicket-keeper batsman can make or break teams as proven many times. I thought only Sachin had fanatic supporters

Problem is high expectations with regards to the ability a player possess. Dhoni does not have in him to be successful at test level as a batsman overseas consistently. He will have a few good innings but not too many. He has done well on occasions but mostly they stay as occasions. Other than that we lack options in that department. Saha and Karthick the two we only have tried. Karthick got his chances but fluffed them.

It was my prediction here Dhoni's captaincy will be found once the senior players start fading out and that he was blessed to have had players at top of their game as captain. I had warned many people here after the WC 2011 win that we shouldn't be carried away by that cup as he wasn't yet tested with a completely young side. I had warned that we would be found soon in tests that matter.

Dhoni fanboys think that whatever success the team had was due to Dhoni's kaptaani and the failures are because of the team. They live in a world of blissful ignorance.

and surprisingly they don't see any logical fallacy in that belief..

It is with every captain, not just Dhoni. Ponting's captaincy was found out too. A captain is as good as his team. If anyone thinks otherwise, then that's a delusion.

The captain was still the same, but we played far better cricket than them due to the absence of McGrath and Warne.

You mean Dhoni didnt single-handedly win us two world-cups and took us to no 1 in tests only to be let down by his players in the 0-8 tests loss?

it`s ok if he cannot bat better than this but at least he should keep well dhoni`s keeping skills have gone down badly due to fatigue he has to give up one format at-least

Ganguly may be stoking the fires again, but there can be no doubt that Srikanth and BCCI officials are qunts where communication and intelligence is concerned, Didn't Sri and co name Dravid for England one dayers after making it clear he was no longer a one day choice a year back. Didn't Dravid immediately put him in place by declaring a one day retirement with effect, similar to way Laxman did on his test career a day back?

Dravid respected the selection and retired after the series. Laxman with immediate effect. I don't see any wrong in both decisions.

You can't dump someone like Dravid from a one day side by calling to blood youngsters and then selectively choose him in tough series when the youngsters fail. It adds to confusion among the young players and insults a player like Dravid. You don't see CA choose guys like S. Waugh and Ponting back in one day sides after they decide that their one day career was over. You can't treat guys like Dravid/Laxman whimsically like they are freshers and shouldn't tolerate the likes of SRT deciding when they want to play one dayers and when not. He should also have been sounded out carefully for future planning by now out of one days games as well. His in and out selection in one dayers is detrimental and at 39 he isn't doing either himself, the team or selectors any favors.
