Averages South Africa 48 England 33 And they say it was a close thing.. lol my foot Whats with englishmen? For them any loss other than an innings pummeling is a close one haha Lost 2 nil in a home series with umpire aid and still calling them fighters...? Same was said about the away whitewash... argument then was ajmal chucks and that they lost only by 70 runs lmao Loving it

England should now focus on back to back ashes. They are done hosting Olympics. Now only thing which will make them happy is winning or beating Aussies. Screw the Indian tour, where they are going to be gangknapped. Let's just play Ashes.

Lol at the title of this thread. Except the OP and a lone Engishman, there is no one showing any 'appreciation' of the English. One has to look at the Oval test scoreline to really appreciate the English. :hysterical::hysterical:

Maa ch***ye appreciation. Itni time baad yeh din aya aur hum aise hi jaane de. :hitler: People have short memory. India have played like this many times. Remember Chennai test against England? Kolkata test against proteas?

The courage and hunger that they have shown today is remarkable. It is something you expect the No. 1 to show when they have to fight to protect their ranking. Inspite of beng down and out and against the odds in last day they have shown the bulldog spirit. Something Indians could have done much more of. Irrespective of result you have my respect for last day perfomance.:hatsoff: But I ll gloat when you lose.:icflove:
Are you kidding me ? This overhyped English team has only been good in familiar conditions & they were supposed to lord over opponents at home. And they barely competed this series. If not for Pietersen's ton in the second test, would have lost 3-0. I understand that 350 is a stiff target and they did not capitulate. But this is not some kinda unique effort to deserve a whole lot of accolades. India (which i ack is a cr@ppier test team, BTW) managed much better in similar situations & even pulled off several stunning wins. So i dont agree with your comment that we gave away our no. 1 position without a fight. I think your comments seem based only on the 0-8 drubbing we got in the last two away series, which i agree is not easy to forgive/forget. We were always a batting team led by strong opening partnerships with weak or non-existing bowling attack. So when our batsmen flopped (more importantly our openers flopped) we had nowhere to hide. But while it lasted this Indian team did give us some fine memories. So, no, no appreciation for the English team.

If there is a side which deserves appreciation, it is South Africa. they have consistently done well since readmission always in the top 2-3 sides. Had to contend with English poaching their talent. Even after reaching number 1, there is no gloating from their team or from coach or even ex-players.

india last lost a home series 8 years back 2004 to aus that to with a depleted side..from 2001-2012 only 1 home series loss which is the above mentioned one.. i hope india goes into the home series vs england with an aim to win each and every test match and further humiliate the english to take the revenge and leapfrog over them in the rankings
