There once was a time when he did. Just before 1999 WC he lost his Dad. After India lost a couple of games SRT was SOSed. He came, he saw, he conquered the next game. Scoring a century against Kenya. It is one of cricket's greatest memory to remember seeing his raise his bat towards heaven and talk to his Dad. Every man of our generation was a SRT then and had a tear in his eyes. Indians have supported Sachin like none before, or after. I doubt any country has supported any cricketer like Sachin. To think he went this direction. Boy what a loss of face, it seems to be worst than the disappointment handed by the politicians.

I'll go on record saying that, Sachin should consider retiring now. He should play any further test only if that is part of some transition plan or something like that. But yes, his time as the premier batsman is up.
