A day after an operation to nab these men ended on Wednesday, police said they had been told the group had plans to assassinate MPs and MLAs from the state, a businessman and two journalists from Bangalore. Six of them were picked up from Bangalore on Wednesday morning, hours after the others were arrested in Hubli. Police said all had links with Lashkar-e-Taiba and Harkat-ul-Jihadal-Islami. Ejaz Mohammed Mirza, one of the men arrested, works for Airborne Early Warning and Control System, a DRDO division, sources in central intelligence and state home ministry said. An imported 7.65 mm revolver, seven bullets, computers, hard disks, mobile phones and religious tracts were recovered from the men, state police chief Lalrokhuma Pachau told reporters on Thursday. Those arrested in Bangalore are Muthi-ur-Rahman Siddiqui, 26; Shoaib Ahmed Mirza alias Chhotu, 25; Abdullah alias Abdul Hakim Jamadar, 25; Ejaz Mohammed Mirza, 25; Mohammed Yusuf Nalbandh, 28; and Riyaz Ahmed Byahatti, 28. Bangalore City Crime Branch (CCB) officials had kept their visit so secret that even local police had no information about it. A six-member BCCB team headed by police inspectors NB Sakri and Anand Kabbure arrived in Hubli on Sunday morning in a private vehicle. The team brought with them a computer analyst, videographer, photographer and technical experts. They stayed at a lodge close to the old bus terminus and chalked out a plan to trail and arrest the youths. The team had information about their alleged links with terrorist organizations. Before picking up the accused, the CCB officials reportedly travelled through the city on motorbikes and monitored the movements of the suspects. They also verified registers of all local hotels to find out whether any suspects were lodged there. After confirming the fact that all the suspects were staying in their houses in Hubli, the team began to execute its plan. Around 9am Wednesday, the BCCB team members raided the houses of all the suspects and took them into custody. The operation was over in just 30 minutes. Around 11am, the team left for Bangalore with the youths. "Five officials in civil clothes came home when my wife, daughter and daughterin-law were there. They asked for Jaffer,who was sleeping in his room. They asked my wife whether our son is a drug addict. They have left after seizing his laptop and cell phone. They haven't said why they were picking up my son,'' said Shaikh Rafeeq Ahmad, father of Jaffer Iqbal Sholapur, one of the accused. Local police came to know of the detainment when the family members of the youths visited the local police stations in Keshwapur and Old Hubli, seeking clarifications. Hubli-Dharwad police commissioner BA Padmanayan said: "We are not aware of the arrest of the youths. The operation was carried out by CCB."

By the way, if their plan was to assassinate a few MLAs, why didn't we let them finish the task and then nab them :--D

But the are able to easily kill tons of innocent people...

The only reason govt even bothered to do a swift 26/11 investigation is due to foreign victims being involved.

Bangalore: The interrogation of the 11 terror suspects with Lashkar-e-Toiba and HuJI links, who were arrested on Thursday from Bangalore and Hubli, has revealed that apart from politicians and journalists, the Kaiga nuclear plant and important naval installations were also on their radar. A student from Hyderabad was also picked up today in connection with the same probe. According to a DNA report, the terror module was aiming to target the Seabird naval base in Karwar. It has also come to light that most of the instructions and directions to the module members were being given from handlers based in Saudi Arabia via Skype Internet based telephony to avoid coming under the scanner of intelligence agencies. Among the arrested 11 persons were a journalist and a DRDO scientist named Aijaz Ahmed Mirza. Mirza was working as junior research fellow at the Centre for Air Borne Systems in Bangalore, which is involved the Airborne Early Warning & Control programme. Sources said Mirza had access to a number of systems, sub-systems and technologies designed, developed and tested at CABS. He could have transferred vital information on the project to the terror outfits, agencies fear. Wow..!! can't believe educated people can involve in such ****.

How easy and convenient it has been both for the media + government on forgetting or even denial that there are Indians themselves who are involved in terrorism. Home based terrorism is our biggest worry but it seems like the government does not even knowledge any threat from within the country. Not just the government, but even the public just blames Pakistan on everything.

Texy Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 Bangalore: One more person has been arrested in Bangalore for alleged links to banned terror organisations and plotting to assassinate several politicians and journalists in Karnataka. So far, 17 people with alleged links to the banned Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Harkat-ul-Jihad-al-Islami (HuJI) have been arrested. 22-year-old Mohammed Akram from Nanded, Maharashtra was arrested by the crime branch last night near Majestic area of the city. Bangalore City Police Commissioner BG Jyothiprakash Mirji said, he was allegedly hatching a conspiracy to execute target killings in Bangalore and was trying to flee the city when he was arrested. According to police, he received training in Saudi Arabia for a year, and was taking shelter in the city for a while. However, after the arrest of the other accused, he had gone into hiding. "One foreign-made 7.65 mm pistol along with 16 cartridges and other incriminating articles have been recovered from his possession," Mr Mirji said. On Wednesday, the crime branch of the Bangalore Police had arrested 11 persons - six from Bangalore and five from Hubli - and claimed to have averted a "big catastrophe" by foiling their plan to target politicians, legislators and mediapersons. All of them have been sent to 14 days in police custody and are currently being questioned. Sources say, a National Investigation Agency (NIA) team in Karnataka may go to Hubli for interrogation. The arrests have come just three days after the Karnataka Police claimed to have busted a terror module in the state. Fresh revelations have sprung up on the group's links with dreaded terrorist organisations and its sinister designs to carry out attacks in the state. Interrogations have also revealed that a nuclear installation and a key defence establishment were on the radar of the suspects. "They have also plotted to attack vital installations such as the Kaiga nuclear power plant (about 500 km from Bangalore) and the Sea Bird naval base at Karwar (in Uttara Kannada district on the west coast of the state)," Mr Mirji said. The revelations came on a day when the Bangalore Police, as part of its continuing crackdown, arrested another man - the twelfth in the case - in Hyderabad for suspected terror links. Obaid-ur-Rehman, 26, was picked up from the old city area on the basis of information provided by the 11 terror suspects. The police claim that he was allegedly planning to target a leader of a right-wing Hindu outfit. He has been brought to Bangalore for questioning. Nationalism has no meaning in certain religions and its followers dont believe in being defined as per some virtual borders drawn on the world map . The primary belief is that this world belongs to God first and then come the fake definitions of India , Pakistan led by meaningless constitutions . Turnmoil in the world exists because those who staunchly believe that this earth belongs to God and God's constitution should be implemented on this earth, are facing resistance from non believers. As long as God's will is not implemented, you will see struggles.There is a strong belief that solution to human sufferings lies in implementing God's will not man's.

The ACP, K N Jithendranath, Central Crime Branch, Special Enquiries, the complainant, stated that he received ÅÄredible information regarding the conspiracy hatched to assassinate a columnist on August 26. The sources told him they belonged to Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and some of them were hiding near Marappa Garden, JC Nagar and possessed arms and ammunition. The ACP sent a team to Hubli and deployed another to keep a watch on the youths in Bangalore. Abdul Hakeem Jamadar and Shoaib Ahmed Mirza alias Chotu used the stolen bike ( KA-27-E-1035) and reconnoitred in Basaveshwarnagar, Shankar Mutt, Cunningham Road, QueenÃÔ Road and JC Nagar areas. On August 29, the police laid a trap as the youths were to come near Shankar Mutt with the objective of assassinating the journalist, added the FIR. Two youths wearing helmets and riding a bike came arrived at Maruthinagar where the journalist was expected to make a visit. Abdul Hakeem Jamadar tried to escape when the police surrounded them, while Shoaib Ahmed Mirza alias Chotu ÅÕook out a 7.65 mm auto pistol (bearing number 711117 PETRO AND BERATA made in Italy) fire arm and pointed towards the police? the FIR states. The police pounced him and he fell down. ŵhe duo admitted that they were members of LeT and HuJI, the FIR further states. They tipped the police about their three associates in J C Nagar, stated the FIR. The police rushed to the house in Munireddy Palya around 3.30 pm and secured Muthi-Ur-Rehman Siddiqui, Riyaz Ahmed Byahatti, Mohammad Yusuf Nalband and Aizaz Ahmed Mirza, the FIR stated. The police recovered Jihadi books, pen drives containing jihadi materials, laptop, mobile phones, dragger, pistol along with seven live rounds, ATM card, wallet containing Rs 1,100, ÅÕhe photographs of the journalist and the editor-in-chief with Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi? revealed the FIR. The suspects told the police they had hatched conspiracies to eliminate political leaders, Hindu leaders and journalists for expressing views against Islam, the FIR claimed.
