jairamesh Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 Our number 9, 10 and 11 over the last two years have been hopeless, with a combined average below 10. Compared to when we were number one, our combined 9, 10, and 11 were averaging 16! The difference is huge when your tailenders can cheap in. Currently none of our tailenders can muster to get past 10 runs. Just going by numbers, on average (last two years): NZ tailenders can manage 42 runs per innings Ind tailenders can manage 26 runs per innings It's not only about tailenders scoring runs, but providing that support that would for example like today allow Ashwin to score runs. So if a tailender can get 10 runs, the partnership with a higher order batsman could be worth triple or quadruple, i.e. 30-40 runs.
India-KXIP fan Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 No we have Ashwin. Averages more than Raina, accidentely voted yes.
deathmonger Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 No we have Ashwin. Averages more than Raina' date=' accidentely voted yes.[/quote'] he said 9-11. ashwin is 8. actually it's like all the batting talent of the bottom 3 got channeled into ashwin.
Number Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 Yes, we suck. But top 5 not good either I feel.
Trichromatic Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 Does India have one of the worst opening pair? Number suggests so. Since Jan 1, 2011 No code has to be inserted here. 3 sixes by most attacking and exciting opening pair in the world. That average includes Dravid's heroic inning in which he carried the bat.
India-KXIP fan Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 he said 9-11. ashwin is 8. actually it's like all the batting talent of the bottom 3 got channeled into ashwin. 8 is tail. Main problem is openers not performing to their potential. Once they regain form India's batting will be reliable and solid again.
Trichromatic Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 We easily are weakest batting line-up in world.
Tridibans_16 Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 We easily are weakest batting line-up in world. Depends on the conditions. In Aus/ SA definitely same as the level of WI/BAN (incurrent form).
Ultimate_Game Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 Without a doubt! Our nos. 9, 10 and 11 are on par with Chris Martin at the moment :(( Zak has morphed into a tailender right out of 80s, and Ojha & Umesh date even further back. On a consistent basis we woul dbe lucky to get 10 runs out of our last 3 and we are in danger of bowled out within a couple of overs after we lose our 7th wkt. We have the worst bowling lineup in shorter formats and now we also have the dubious distinction of having the worst tail in intl cricket
Executioner Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 We easily are weakest batting line-up in world. you guys have better batting lineup than BD and pakistan so dont make such comments Anyways, apart from ashwin the bowlers have been crap, with both bat and ball.
Sidhoni Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 Ishant can hang out, others are just there for formalities it seems.
panther Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 no pakistan have the worst tail in international cricket.
deathmonger Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 no pakistan have the worst tail in international cricket. true. it starts from wk.
Sid Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 Ishant can hang out' date= others are just there for formalities it seems. :cantstop: On topic ,Zak's batting has certainly gone down the drains recently.
The Realist Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 Without a doubt! Not only does he have weight and eating issues but his batting has become on a par with the village idiot that is Munaf Patel. He can barely last 10 balls these days. You would think being one of the most senior players in the team that he would show leadership and be able to guts it out when needed. However as the size of his belly shows responsibility does not come easily to another of the ageing brigade.
yoda Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 So our concerns now are batting of 9,10 and 11. Next is the bowling form of 1, 2 and 3? :hahaha:
carnish Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 no pakistan have the worst tail in international cricket. How come ... both afridi and gul can bat pretty well
carnish Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 you guys have better batting lineup than BD and pakistan so dont make such comments Anyways, apart from ashwin the bowlers have been crap, with both bat and ball. Ojha has been crap with the ball ... You must be joking ... He is way better than Shakib and Rehman
deathmonger Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 How come ... both afridi and gul can bat pretty well tests. in odis with pathan in we prolly have one of the strongest tails.
ganeshran Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 Everyone below number 6 is part of the tail except Ashwin. All are aaya ram gaya ram without even the slightest desire to fight it out
