Trichromatic Posted September 3, 2012 Author Posted September 3, 2012 Zak did bowl in some spells, but he leaked runs and was unable to pick wickets. He got lucky with his last one.
Number Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 Kohli, Dhoni, Ashwin - 10 Pujara - 9 Ojha - 8 ZAK, Sehwag - 5 Raina - 4 SRT, Gambo, Yadav - 2 Yadav took 5 wickets, Zak took 3. Both 4 IMO. Ojha too deserves 9.
deathmonger Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 Yadav took 5 wickets, Zak took 3. Both 4 IMO. Ojha too deserves 9. yes ojha 9 too. zak bowled better than yadav. was a bit unlucky. had a dropped chance, an lbw missed. but not up to his usual standards. good thing is unlike other seniors he still looks good and he had a relatively good oz tour (avg 31) when others were getting slaughtered.
Ultimate_Game Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 Sehwag - 3.5 Gambhir - 2 Pujara - 8 Tendulkar - 2 Kohli - 10 Raina - 2 Dhoni - 10 Ashwin - 10 Zaheer - 3 Ojha - 8.5 Umesh - 4.5
hitman1980 Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 Sehwag - 2 Gambhir - 2 Pujara - 9 Tendulkar - 1 Kohli - 10 Raina - 3 Dhoni - 9 Ashwin - 10 Zaheer - 1 Ojha - 10 Umesh - 4
Ultimate_Game Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 :hmmm: My bad. Should have rated Gambhir low as well. Let me correct the score.
cowboysfan Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 Pujara against spin Is it going to be a problem?i have not seen him play in domestic cricket but Jeetan patel is an ordinary bowler and he should not have any difficulties against him.
BeautifulGame Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 I have watched enough of Pujara domestic cricket to believe he is a far superior player of spin than he showed today
carnish Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 Kohli, Dhoni, Ashwin - 10 Pujara - 9 Ojha - 8 ZAK, Sehwag - 5 Raina - 4 SRT, Gambo, Yadav - 2 Ojha 8 .. Great ... guy picks up 13 wickets n two test matches and gets 8 .. Batsman Pujara scores in 1 test and fails in other and gets 9.
carnish Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 yes ojha 9 too. zak bowled better than yadav. was a bit unlucky. had a dropped chance, an lbw missed. but not up to his usual standards. good thing is unlike other seniors he still looks good and he had a relatively good oz tour (avg 31) when others were getting slaughtered. :two_thumbs_up:
carnish Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 I have two rates for Indian players. Performer and Non-Performer Sehwag, Kohli, Pujara, Ojha, Ashwin, Dhoni -10 Gambhir, Zaheer, Yadav, Sachin, Raina- 0
Ultimate_Game Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 I have two rates for Indian players. Performer and Non-Performer Sehwag, Kohli, Pujara, Ojha, Ashwin, Dhoni -10 Gambhir, Zaheer, Yadav, Sachin, Raina- 0 Put Sehwag in the 2nd category.
Number Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 Put Sehwag in the 2nd category. As much as we blame him he averaged 40+. And conditions weren't too difficult but weren't too easy either for his batting. So I think in performer non-performer ranking he'll be able to make it among performers.
jairamesh Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 Trust me this is a one off. He is more than just a good player of spin. And his recent exploits for India A during the tour of WI on rank turners should also provide good evidence of his ability against spin.
Ultimate_Game Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 As much as we blame him he averaged 40+. And conditions weren't too difficult but weren't too easy either for his batting. So I think in performer non-performer ranking he'll be able to make it among performers. But his inability to score a big innings and throwing his wkt away after being set means that he's closer to the 2nd category than the 1st.
