However, people who say that they are industry leaders now are also fools. I have seen you making this statement earlier too in another thread. Times change & currently Nokia are no longer the leaders. Are you telling me that Apple, Samsung got ahead of Nokia by ONLY "marketing" ? I hope for the sake of your brains you are not. I would say Nokia lagged behind not because their products were inferior or their technology was inferior, but because they did not realize how industry was going in fast forward after 2007-2008 and there the fell flat. They did not adopted Android. If they had done, they could have built upon their hardwares on that, but they did not instead they decided to develop their own platform MeeGo Harmattan which they decided to abandon during development as it was taking time and Elop had joined Nokia who brought Windows phone to the plate. I can see they will be back in the game again in next 1 year. Even today if Nokia decides to adopt Android, they have the technical efficiency to challenge any established Android brand but their management is to be blamed for their plight that they even have to laid off 10,000 employees.

Yet you jump at every chance you get to downplay that..... You probably very well know that WP8 isn't the only product Microsoft is focussing on, but rather a whole ecosystem to mesh and create a unique experience across multiple platforms. That's the game Microsoft is playing.

That's the game Microsoft is playing. The only person seems insecure here is the guys who hate a certain company. :secret: I am just posting articles which are relevant. After all, in the end the consumer decides what is the best. It would also make good meat to go through that article once. The author is not someone like you and me - pretty knowledgeable & sometimes just sometimes it is good to speak the good and the bad both. So, while I am all for market competition - Nokia phone looks great BUT they screwed up. Are you man enough to accept that?

The iPhone 5 also offers a notable improvement over its Apple-made predecessor on the video front, but considering that its stabilization is of the digital variety, we wouldn't expect it to top Nokia's new flagship. We had an opportunity to test both smartphones in a head-to-head demo at Nokia's research and development facility in Tampere, Finland, about two hours north of the company's Espoo headquarters. In fact, we're told that this is the very first such comparison shoot in the world, considering that the iPhone made it to market just last week and the only opportunity to shoot with a Lumia 920 is currently in the European country where the device was born. As expected, the Nokia phone was able to capture far smoother video than what we snapped with the iPhone, with both devices secured side-by-side in a homemade foam holster. Unlike our handheld interview shoot earlier today, we pushed the limits a bit further this time, running through Nokia's parking lot and turning every which way as well. It's important to note that the Lumia 920 we used was a prototype, but its performance was still quite solid. Update: We also had an opportunity to test the Samsung Galaxy S III (just below) and the HTC One X (following) against the Lumia 920. Despite this, Nokia's Russian subsidiary has started to officially take pre-orders for both devices today, with availability slated for Q4 2012. The Lumia 920 is priced at 24,990 rubles ($801) and the Lumia 820 at 19,990 rubles ($640), with both prices reflecting Russia's traditional higher pricing for smartphones. Nokia Germany and Nokia Italy have also announced pricing, with availability dates in November. Nokia Germany is pricing the Lumia 920 at 649 euros ($836) and the Lumia 820 at 499 euros ($643). Sachin=GOD Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 Finally launched the Lumia 1020 Pureview. The camera looks awesome and they've added some interesting features. Won't be coming to India till the end of the year at least.

Its not that bad an OS but Android is getting better with every new version, has many more Apps and has a HUGE lead in market share with all major smartphone makers (except Nokia and Apple) bringing out great phones. Nokia would do well to dump Windows Phone & go with Android or at least have Android alongside Windows.........but I don't see that happening anytime soon.

I don't know about US or Europe etc but I guess there's still a LOT of potential in markets like India and Africa :hmmm: Samsung is doing pretty well and by the looks of things, should continue to do so for in the near future. Though they do need some new mid range phones :agree: BTW why are they still going with plastic body for their phones? It looks tacky, especially in comparison with the likes of Apple & HTC.
velu Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 even i dont know why smasung still uses plastic stuff :mad: some samsung md/ceo/vp claimed metal body takes times to manufacture , which is a blatant lie IMO.. :giggle: my guess is this plastic vs metal thing came after the release of S2 , and samsung dont want to give any breathing space to its competitors ( moving from plastic to metal design will take some additional months .. HTC took 6 or 7 additional months for HTC one ).. i love nokia build quality .. :icflove: among android phones HTC One build is top notch :two_thumbs_up:
