Lord Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 I think he should be played in the side in the upcoming ODI series and then be named captain like Graeme Smith. :agree: agree, but why not tests?:giggle:
Crookbond Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 agree' date='but why not tests?:giggle:[/quote'] I said like Graeme Smith - it implies all formats. :cantstop:
veer Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 nahh let Chand play few more domestic and foreign A tours.. and then he can be in senior team.. is he playing in champioins league?
Old guy Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 idk i would normally say keep him away from national side but seeing kohli :hmmm: maybe after one season he can come into one day side wont hurt him im sure
Lord Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 nahh let Chand play few more domestic and foreign A tours.. and then he can be in senior team.. is he playing in champioins league? yes I think for DD.not sure he'll make the XI
Old guy Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 yes I think for DD.not sure he'll make the XI im sure he will make playing 11 as indian its easy to get in.. he is opener and sehwag is injured i think ? also this guy has lot of hype...delhi wont miss such a chance and will def play him
jairamesh Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 I would chuck Chand into odi opening slot. Not sure how long we can allow Sehwag blow hot and cold. And considering next WC is in Australia, Sehwag won't be much use and probably not fit enough. Time for Chand to open for India ODI team, especially NOW with a strong middle order, so less pressure on him.

veer Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 yes I think for DD.not sure he'll make the XI there you go... i got my reason to watch Delhi games now.. just put him in let him face chin music ... kid will grow old ten fold.. and games are in SA soo that's more fun..

veer Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 Have you seem leagues lineup? He will face likes of bollonger, Watson, morkels, malinga etc.. U19 is a kids league... These are big boys... It's 20-20 I know but facing these guys will be a lesson itself..
MCcricket Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 This kid has spunk and talent to boot, he is not fazed by the occasion or short bowling, he might not have score 100's and 200 , he certainly scored 50's and shows he belongs , also appeared composed, I personally would choose him above some of the players we have had on the fringes and the team.

But Chand is flavour of the month so hence the call for promotion international cricket. Though Rahane should go the Pujara way and go into the Test XI. The selectors went for Raina match after match . I also have no doubt that Pujara will play ODI cricket sooner then latter. And Rahane if takes off in Test cricket will also make the transition to ODI. It's easier to adopt to ODI once one has established in Tests, but more difficult vice-versa. It's shame the likes Rahane, Tiwary, Mukund, and Rohit haven't played enough Tests by now considering the form the likes of Sehwag, Gambhir, Tendulkar and Raina have been in in the last 20 months.
