So not sure how calling telugu Italian of the East is a compliment. b) Telugu, you can correct me here, has been in use prior to 1000 AD while Italian has been in play after 1000 AD. c) More people speak Telugu than Italian worldwide, and I would say many Southern states who do not speak Telugu tend to understand it as well. Point being Telugu's history is older, richer and has more speakers than Italian. And yet folks like you are impressed! That is like saying Sachin Tendulkar is Ian Bell of Indian cricket :beee:

I have adressed your comment about never knowing that Italian is considered to be a beautiful language....could well be a sterotype but that leads us to the other sterotype was that All speakers of South Indian languages understanding each other... Any way This is not a p******g contest about which language is better or whaterver.....The point I was getting across is let us try to preserve our mother-tounge and national language before demanding respect for our langauages at a world stage :icflove:

I have come across so many ppl in life who after learning Hindi and English, want to learn French, German or Spanish. But rarely I have seen people making an attempt to learn other Indian regional language. It's true not only for Hindi-natives but for all Indians.
