This discussion is about the captain's tactics. Yes, Yadav is not a good LOI bowler, but Dhoni's handling of him hasn't been great either. It's the latter that's being discussed about in this thread. If Yadav sucks, that doesn't exonerate the captain's mismanagement of the bowler. People have very clearly put forth points about how Yadav might not be able to settle into a rhythm as he is being forced to bowl his overs in very short spells, sometimes even one over spells even though that one over was bowled well. The "Yadav sucks" response doesn't answer those questions on captaincy at all.

You can try new people - Pandey, Bumrah etc instead of going back to someone who has not had a single matchwinning performance in ODIs in the last 3-4 years. Again, bringing up the excuse of Dhoni in the last 2-3 matches doesn't negate his entire career. Agreed he has been decent in tests but he has clearly not been able to replicate it in ODIs. It is because he has no control and gets probably one good ball in an over which will get punished in ODIs. Explains why he has a bad economy rate. He is not cut for ODIs

This *****er cost india another game. Kohli and dhawan set it up beautifully, 55 needed off 32 or something, and he plays so f'n slow, unable to hit 4s let alone sixes, raina freezes up, jadeja does sh*t again. Again we had the match in the bag but dhoni tries to be heroic and save his status, this time it backfired again and now this tour ends on a bitter note. India had the game, had wickets in hand but played so damn slow. Dhoni couldn't hit a thing! Refused singles, didn't even try to get 4s. Fact is, dhoni is past it. Jadeja sucks. I'm really disappointed as are the crowd that paid hard earned money and saw an almost won game go to pieces as india did tuk tuk for absolutely no reason!

i was talking about his runs as he is a run machine in that format but yh, lost those tours and even though we won 3-1 here, this was an easy win, put england down and leave with confidence and on a high.. what does he do? Its time we get some late order hitters in. Wouldn't mind samson at 5, maybe a guy like vohra too? Bound to be many better than dhoni. We need matchwinners. Even jadeja sucked.
