A simple question to all the 'Dhoni hatao' brigade...whom you want as the skipper? Kohli, Raina, Rohit or who? Dhoni might not be a great skipper but Indian side looks a shadow of itself when that man is not standing behind the stump. We all saw what happened in Asia cup and few people who are demanding his exclusion were missing him desperately then. Check out few posts from the Asia cup match threads how badly people were missing Dhoni. Moment he comes back in the side, he leads India to finals of t'20 WC undefeated. He might not be a 'Strategically' great skipper or might just be a lucky charm or whatever, the bottom line is he is the most successful skipper India ever had get that into your head.

A simple question to you Whom will you have skipper after 5 years, 10 years? In Asia cup we missed Raina a million times more than we missed Dhoni. It was Raina who made the difference in T20 cup and Raina who was missed in Asia cup Dhoni might be the most successful skipper, but even the best skippers have a shelf life and he is clearly past it. Now if your main focus in T20 world cups adn Asia cups we can persist with him. But if we want to be a strong test team in the future, we have to start building now. Get that into your head

Not really. Chopping and changing a team thinking 5 years ahead from now, specially when a world cup is around the corner will be stupidity. Who has seen the future? Who knows what will be Kohli's form in 5 years? Sehwag was a sure successor of MSD 5 years ago...look where is he now. So thinking so ahead never works in that way. It needs to be a gradual progression. Our test team just came out of a massive transition and if we change it again, it will never be a settle unit. This is already a revamped test side, why you guys want more changes? Be patient and give thme a little more space. Its not always easy to fill a boots of Tendulkar and Dravid. No we did not miss Raina in Asia cup. He was in horrible form even in ODI's back home starting from Australia series. It was MSD's big hitting in the end that cost us valuable runs. It was MSD's captaincy that caused us the game against Pakistan. Ashwin bowling against Afridi in last over was a joke of a captaincy, lets not even bring the easy single to Junaid. A big player like MSD cannot be dropped from all 3 formats like OP's dream. It needs to be gradual progression and should be done progressively.
