Vilander Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 Hey guys honestly, the sudden jump is due to the fact that in t20 any team can beat any other team. Beating any team consistently in t20 is a good achievement. I think BD deserve their ratings.

How can the rankings be so haphazard? One day you are ranked fifth, and the next day you lose a game and end up being ninth? What next, BD will beat Kenya and Outer Mongolia in a span of 5 days and that will catapult them to rank 1?

It's T20 and hardly any intl T20 games are played so the fluctuation would be high, especially considering the fact that Scots are not even ranked so any loss to the likes of Scot or Dutch will bring you down quite a few notches.

If the teams play far more then this will normalise. As they would weigh the lower teams lesser, but for now i think there isn'T much weightage difference between no 3 team and a no 7 team IMO.

Also, if a team that previously recorded points for a major victory does not gain additional points, it will fall in the ranking as only results over the last twelve months count in full, those from the previous year count half, while games played up to three and four years earlier have even less significance.

Yeah for Bangladesh since no one is interested in playing with them they will play with Ireland and scotland only and since those teams got no test status.. T20 is the future for your side..
