Are you a Paki in disguise? If a player score ( a player you dislike), suddenly excuses start pouring. .
Stop calling other posters Pakis. I noticed you doing this in response to every post criticizing Dhoni. cut it out.

Dhoni should give up the test captaincy. In ODIs he is good enough both as a captain and a player. Don't really care about the T20s though it would be good to give Kohli a chance.

+1 We have to start somewhere. People who are saying we cannot suddenly remove him from captaincy and keep him for the home series, they need to keep in mind we are touring SA next year (Dec) and the new captain cannot be expected to take over on an away tour. For this very reason, new skipper has to be selected for our next two home series to gel the team together under him.
So lets put the weight of the world on Kohli who is still only 23:facepalm: Lets see how he goes about the job in shorter form and then decide

completely agree. But I still don't see the selectors sacking Dhoni from the Test Captaincy so the only way it can happen is if he himself gives up the Captaincy.

Are you a Paki in disguise? If a player score ( a player you dislike), suddenly excuses start pouring. Runs are runs and he deserves credit. There are two different issues here, firstly should he still be captain and your own totally different issue on how he should be out of the team entirely. And the logically facts only suppose Dhoni being captain. But ,if you still continue to insist in ignoring his good performances, then it is only c rap from you.
:cantstop: dhoni fans :beee:.Please Dhoni give up test captaincy it wil also give you time to think about your msd racing team and you may get dropped from tests if you perform badly then you can give your full attention to your racing team.

Guys just imagine what would happen if Virat were to be made captain now and we lose the "revenge" series against England, the same media praising him will be out to castigate him, that would be a nice way to mess up the only reliant batsman we have now:nice:

nobody is saying that Kohli should be made Test Captain right now. Test Captaincy should go to a senior player and Kohli can be made the vice captain if the selectors have him in mind as the future leader of the team.

I can say Dhoni should not be even selected for the SA tour with his technique. BUt only for his WK, I don't see how he will cut out for that tour as a batsman. Even Karthik had a better technique than him in overseas conditions.

That's the logical choice. Other than Dhoni this Indian team has very few options as captains. Sehwag has shown he doesn't deserve to be the captain, Gambhir would have been my pick but he's woefully out of form and doesn't even merit an automatic selection in the side. Kohli is the player who was earmarked for Indian captaincy since u-19 days and is now the best batsman for India in all formats. He should be the pick for captaincy at the moment just like Unmukt should be as a vice-captain to Kohli in 3 years' time.

But he will guts it out as an opener and that will more or less increase our chances of posting a bigger total. I for one would like Gambhir made the captain in atleast in tests.. Selection is not always about stats, sometimes its about instinct too

G.Smith was selected when he was one of the youngest players in the SA lineup. Look what he has done to SA. they are No.1 now.

And for the rexord, I am also in favour of selecting some senior guy as a captain before Kohli (who is def. our future captain). But atm, Gambhir is out of form and so is Viru (probably very less career left of him also).

Gambhir and Sehwag, for all their captaincy ambitions (which have been well covered in the media), have chosen the absolutely worst time to lose their form. Even average performances for any of them and Dhoni would have lost his captaincy by now, especially Gambhir. Guy looked like our next captain on that tour of SA, from then on has totally lost his test form even failing on home pitches. And one of my thread title says, its that TINA factor which will keep Dhoni in the saddle.

Actually I kinda agree with what you said. Selectors are not that bold to sack him as a skipper. Imagine if AUS had been whitewashed 0-8 away from home

no pls he's in gr8 form! who regrets that? but he's just 23 let him enjoy his vice captaincy for next 2 yrs and then think about it. as of now its too early ffs and may affect his form too

occasional performances are not what the Team wants from the Captain. As I said earlier, he usually comes out when the team has made quite a few runs and then he goes on to score big runs but when the team actually needs then we see a good performance very, very rarely.
why? what has he done as a Captain to deserve saving his post in all 3 formats and more importantly, what the hell has Dhoni the Test batsman done in Test matches in the last few months to deserve a place in the side?
So can u list the fighting knocks Gambhir was playing when we are getting hammered 8-0? Or during NZL series? Gambhir struggles against every half decent fast bowling attack in his career apart from 1 and half years (where he played mostly at home)he was on good form.Dhoni has far more pedigre as a test batsman than Gambhir considering the positions they come in. Definitely Dhoni should be sacked as captain but anyone saying Gambhir should replace him are plain deluded.Kohli is the only choice we have frankly.
