Crookbond Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 took DD to 3 semifinals out of 5.cant be that bad. MS Dhoni has won the IPL 2 times and 2 others as runner up. He's better than Sehwag then. :aetsch:
Lord Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 MS Dhoni has won the IPL 2 times and 2 others as runner up. He's better than Sehwag then. :aetsch: Dhoni has got enuf chances to showcase his skills for India but has failed since WC2011.Sehwag's next best.deserves the shot:P
Crookbond Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 Dhoni has got enuf chances to showcase his skills for India but has failed since WC2011.Sehwag's next best.deserves the shot:P The only shot Sehwag deserves currently is a liposuction shot to pull that fat from his stomach. :hehe:
rkt.india Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 didnt we win that series 4-1 with bowlers like Vinay' date='Mithun,Jaddu.even Yadav n Aaron were rookies.not awesome, but not bad by any means[/quote'] Look at how he captained the team.
CG Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 Look at how he captained the team. He captained well ,he was attacking and kept field up even after 15 overs which helped us.You were yourself saying he captained the fast bowlers well at that time.
rkt.india Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 He captained well ' date='he was attacking and kept field up even after 15 overs which helped us.You were yourself saying he captained the fast bowlers well at that time.[/quote'] Yes. I had thought he handled fast bowlers well initially but then assessed that's his style of captaincy, lazy, disinterested, and inactive. His captaincy was plain and one way. Captaincy should be balanced.

rkt.india Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 When dhoni does the same' date='Its called calm, cool captaincy.[/quote'] There is a difference between the two. Dhoni uses his bowling resources better.
someone Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 Typically hindsight. Critics and fans talk like they know a lot. But they know s hit. Will use hindsight to get attention whenever the team does poorly. Similarly, will ask for credit whenever the team does well. Nothing changes and really a nonsense article and comments.
CG Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 There is a difference between the two. Dhoni uses his bowling resources better. Yes we all know how dhoni uses his fast bowling resources .Point is with out giving somebody a chance you cannot discredit him.
rkt.india Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 Yes we all know how dhoni uses his fast bowling resources .Point is with out giving somebody a chance you cannot discredit him. But he himself does not look interested. He has quit DD captaincy twice now. and I doubt any other captain could use the fast bowlers at his disposal any better.
vamos_rafa Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 Yes we all know how dhoni uses his fast bowling resources .Point is with out giving somebody a chance you cannot discredit him. There are off days for both captains and bowlers. The same Ishant Shrama took 20+ wickets in WI under MS while he blew hot and cold in England and Oz. Moreover, if you see the way he handles guys like Albie Morkel, Hilfenhaus and Bollinger and Ntini from the past, you would find that he does pretty well. I know these are all seasoned bowlers, but are used properly. Zak is another prime example who is used effectively.
Crookbond Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 Yes we all know how dhoni uses his fast bowling resources .Point is with out giving somebody a chance you cannot discredit him. And likewise you can not give someone a chance unless he has some credit. Works both ways - if he hasn't done anything in the chances he has got both at the international and domestic levels; it makes no sense to earmark him as the savior. Also, you are being very convenient in your comparisons you compare Sehwag's home stint of captaincy against a side like West Indies versus MS Dhoni's captaincy abroad against a side like Australia - unfair.

Crookbond Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 CG, You said this NO? He captained well ' date='he was attacking and kept field up even after 15 overs which helped us.You were yourself saying he captained the fast bowlers well at that time.[/quote'] I thought you meant he captained well against West Indies and hence, deserves a chance. :hmmm: But, is that sufficient for him to get a chance?

It was in response to rkt comment that he captained badly. So please stop making assumptions.
shortbread Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 Theres a lot of talk about Dhoni not attacking more, but what does one attack with?!! Our bowling attack now consists of an average young spinner who's accurate on most days, an experienced 'fast' bowler whos well past his day in terms of fitness and form, an all rounder who is easy meal if theres no swing, an experienced spinner who forgot the art of spin and flight, a handful of young inconsistent injury prone quickies.... The attacking that happens when India bowls comes mostly from rival batsmen!!!
bablankalhan Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 time's up for MS Dhoni...his luck ended last year after the World Cup and IPL ...Apart from being defensive,he has become superstitious ...Gambhir should be made Test Captain from England series...

vvvslaxman Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 Was his choice of Ishant for 18th over instinctive or inflexible(rigid to prove a point)?
