Punjab will cruise to first innings lead. Jiwanjot going for 100 number five this season! Some players have more runs but his runs are more meaningful due to tough group and conditions especially for an opener on the seaming tracks. Today he's played spin well. He already did get double century against Ojha so he's also good player of spin.

Asking how good is his technique if you've seen him bat. I didn't follow the IPL season of 2011.

No need to be upset lol. I am fairly neutral with my observations. Jiwanjot has been excellent is all I pointed out.

Those super-fighting cricketers should be guys who can fight by playing off over and over, keep grafting when the chips are down, people who can fight off hostile spells etc etc and all that needs a pretty decent technique. No idea what kind of technique Chatterjee has. Just repeating, Chatterjee did not fight with his cricketing skills today. You're looking for that kind of a guy.

Yeah saw him bat the other day. He's a very good domestic level batsman. Definitely a Amol Mazumdar in the making. Will be a solid fixture in Jharkhand's batting line up over the next 10 years or so no doubt. :nice:

They can do that much for him. j) A look back at the match. I must admit my first reaction when I saw the draw was this is going to be a walkover, but what a match from Services. Suraj Yadav followed his 10-for in the previous match with seven in the second innings here. Shadab Nazar got five in the first. And the batting Paliwal. I know Chatterjee will be getting all the plaudits, but what an effort from Paliwal over both the innings. UP have been beaten, but they are one of the most entertaining sides of Ranji Trophy. Not today but over the years. Well done, both sides.

Amol is an opener? :hmmm: Jiwanjot is the next Navjot. Pretty much owned Ojha and has performed on seamer friendly tracks.

Absolutely stunned by UPs defeat.... They just paid the price for a dismal first innings.... Well played by services to get thru to the semi's. Let's see how punjab goes now... they seem to be on track so far but you never know on day 4 UP has some seriously good pacers with age on their side... only trouble is that Venky is coaching them :nervous:

Thanks to cricinfo for the great coverage. And though UP has been so sporting about the whole issue yet they kept bowling bouncers to Chatterjee. (Great sportsman spirit but extremely competitive). And a fairytale ending the way we love them. Great show overall. :two_thumbs_up:
