These guys play 6-7 matches and get injured all the time. :headshake: Couldn't Punjab blood another pacer if Sandeep is not fit? Or their reserve bench is empty? Seem to have enough spinners though.
Gony is nt injured, had flu.

Going by the scorecard and CI commentry atm Jiwanjot doesn't look to be at his best. A bit too slow also. Want to see him at his best.
He always bats slow and that is how he bats most of the time. He can score quickly too as he had shown in one of his centuries but as he is an opener, he limits his shots.

19.5 Backfoot Player, would be useful with pitch with bounce. Wilow Tv showing Lanka match, i wanted to see him bat? Anyone Recording?
SL_Aus match will be over in an hour or so.. then you can watch him bat. :P

He looks very good today .Gets a big front foot stride .Also gets back and across, which shows his backfoot game.Surely should be on A tour.

These knock outs are being playd on some of the worst pitches. This Rajkot track has got no bounce at all. Good work of producing better wickets in league stages undone by these pattas.

Reading CI commentary it seems like Jiwanjot still has a long way to go, unfortunately. Short ball: 32.5 Trivedi to Jiwanjot Singh, no run, that's well bowled. Sconed him. Bouncer, right at the loaf, and JJ is like a rabbit in the headlights. Hit on the helmet. He is neither hooking nor ducking 32.4 Trivedi to Jiwanjot Singh, no run, short, he doesn't want to pull, and he withdraws late from the shot, and the ball hits his glove but doesn't carry to the cordon. More trouble for JJ 28.3 Front foot: Trivedi to Jiwanjot Singh, no run, length ball, just outside off, and he draws another loose shot. About three balls bowled in this area, and we have three loose shots, but Saurashtra keep bowling short and wide. JJ tries to drive on the up, gets a regulation edge, but it doesn't carry 34.3 Trivedi to Jiwanjot Singh, FOUR, and another edge. That's the length that has been troubling JJ. Not a half-volley, not short of a length. Something in between. JJ pushes at it, gets an edge that travels between slips and gully 28.4 Trivedi to Jiwanjot Singh, no run, loose again. Length ball, just outside off, and he pushes at it again. Beaten again. He is not getting close to the line of those balls. Good on the back foot, but loose on the drive Struggling against short ball, not picking it up quick enough. Not getting forward enough to drive slightly fuller on off either.

The other semi finals is more or less likely to be washed out. Heavy rains in Delhi since last evening and more rain predicted. What happens if the match is washed out? Toss of the coin or some run quotient in previous matches?

On a pacier & bouncy pitch, all the more difficult... and even more difficult when you consider he probably hasn't faced 145-150kmph bowlers

As discussed yesterday' date=' Jiwanjot is looking quite edgy and tentative against the spinners.[/quote'] This is only his first season and he is young and nobody's perfect. He will learn and rectify whatever flaws he has. But he's got a great start to his career.

Not denying he's had a great start, but he'll have to figure out his technique both against the short ball and spinners. Fast-tracking will spell disaster for him.
