I think most would agree Jaddu is a decent player in home conditions. But this is where selectors lack the nous to decide when certain players are ideal for certain situation, or when is ideal to get the maximum out that player.

sickening tactics from Saurashtra, the have scored well over 500 runs, number 8 batsman comes in and scored 78 runs of 246 balls (SR 32). and still batting to end of day 2. not sure what this is going to achieve in the long term for Indian cricket.

Siddarth Kaul, Sandeep Sharma, Mohit Sharma, Ishwar Pandey some young fast bowlers really doing well. I talked to Ian Pont about Mohit Sharma who he has coached with Haryana and they had a month long camp in May. He was ordinary last year in 2-3 matches he played but looks like that camp has done a world of good to him. Pont said Mohit will play for India at some stage.

Is he injured ? Or Dahiya though this is a turning track ? Unmukt's knock late in the day really stood out. He is 76* with Delhi 166-6. I hope he scores a 100 here, will boost his confidence a lot.

It may be due to the rotation policy of Dahiya, probably hoping of saving Suyal from playing too much cricket & ultimately getting injured. However Suyal is a good fast bowler (left armer) & I hope that he would become a perfect replacement for Zaheer in the future, along with Pankaj, Umesh, Varun, Awana, Ishant (?) & Shami.

I have watched a lot of domestic cricket last couple of years to me there is no doubt, Pankaj should be bowling for India in test, Gony, Shami, Suyal, should form our bowling pool as these bowlers are ready and also have experience and ingredients to be successful also have excellent figures for last three years in domestic. Ishant, Zaheer, Irfan, Umesh, Aaron, Pankaj, Shami, Suyal, Gony should be our bowling pool and whoever is fit should be playing, that is nine bowlers, who says we don't have replacement it is the selectors and captain near sightedness that has been the biggest problem with India cricket. Rajpoot, Bhaja, Veer, Ravikant, S Sharma, Ishwar Pandey, Wagh, Anwar Ahmed, P Parmeswaram, M Amir, Z Patel, these bowlers should be taken under the wings of NCA and given expert help and care to get to their best as they have potential.I have seen some good spinners come in this year especially from the south zone, Murugan and other leggies and they should also be groomed, batters like Raina, Rayudu, Manish, Mandeep, who have talent but are failing should be guided as Raina doesn't know how to play four day cricket and always ends up throwing his wicket, Rayudu has matured a lot and has class and he could play test for India, Jadeja is batting very well but is failing at the international level, we need to try him on A tous in four day games. SAHA IS THE BEST KEEPER , BATSMEN THAT WE HAVE AND IN FAIRNESS SHOULD BE PLAYING FOR India, atleast 3 other keepers are performing very very well, it is time for selectors to pick up three teams for the formats, plan for the future and make brave decisions, Sachin, Bhajji, VK, PK, Unadkat, Dhoni, Zaheer ARE NOT THE FUTURE , ESPECIALLY IN TEST'S AND NEW PLAYERS SHOULD BE LOOKED AT ASAP.

9.35 am Morning to all, as we start day three of the Ranji Trophy's fifth round. Before we move on to updates from all the matches going on across the country, a word on Ravindra Jadeja, and the reception to his landmark of becoming the first Indian to make three first-class triple tons. Some of the reactions have been seriously sickening, to the tune of, 'it says so much about our first-class cricket if even Jadeja can get three triples.' Give the man a break, I say. Such reactions are a reflection of our culture, which is obsessed with big names and perceptions. I can only imagine the euphoria if Sachin Tendulkar had achieved the feat. Even if Cheteshwar Pujara had done the same, the reactions would have been markedly different, acknowledging the patience of the man to bat long periods. Hasn't Jadeja done the same? And if our pitches are so flat, why has no one else made three triples before? We are obsessed with looking at achievements through the prism of the achiever's image. Absolutely disrespectful to a fantastic deed by someone so young.

Our man Sid Talya has made his way to Brabourne Stadium in south Mumbai, and he brings the bad news for the 39-time champions' followers. Jaffer has been bowled by Bengal fast bowler Shami Ahmed. Mumbai 33 for 1, overall lead of 129. Says Sid, "That was slightly short on the off stump. Jaffer expected it to move away and shouldered his arms, only for the ball to clip the bails."
