In fact, she had planned to visit them in the States. - She asked Raghu to be punished if he is guilty - At the same time, she asked people to understand the position she is in (Lost parents at a young age, lost husband in a Maoist attack and now, pretty much lost a son to life in prison). During early 2000 lot of Indian guys got kicked out after y2k issue was resolved. Lot of guys could not stay in USA without a job. THey didn't have money to pay for the car that was taken on a loan. They just left the car at the airport and escaped. There was this Indian family burnt couple of flats in an apartment because of their careless in cooking. Lets just say these are traits of the majority NRI population due to the struggles most go through to get to where they are and not just the Telugu community. When you are new to even ordinary crime you are bound to fumble when things don't go according to your plan. But a crime of this nature when you commit for the first time clear-headed thinking won't be there. He might as well have tried to rob a bank in day light or some kind of office space scam.
