Even if we loose 3-1, it's difficult to see them embracing DRS after all the BS excuses they have come out with. Ind addition the senior players have fecked this one up big time for our bowlers.

Gambo was our force ,but some reason he is just unable to perform well,, and doing pretty out of touch kind of batting which he has been doing for a year or so. Regarding Tendulkar retirement -he will do it sooner or later . DRS: I don't see BCCI changing its stance on it.

I still think India would win this. England could lose wickets in a cluster. Even a lead of 50 runs is crucial as England would bat last on this track. Of course, the umpiring is going against India but they can put pressure on England if they are set a target of 300 or more.

2) and 3) would very likely happen. But for me, what a loss would really do is to destroy the excuses the Indian players used about their disgraceful performances in England and Australia. We have had many of these guys claim that all would be okay once India beat England and Aus on turning pitches at home. If India lose to even England at home then it would really render us a joke of a Test team. That still might not matter to the BCCI given the money is in IPL and ODIs, but there would be absolutely no hiding the fact that we are screwed in Tests by claiming Eng/Aus are also bad away from home.

I am not disputing the fact that Sachin should be dropped, I am just denying your claim that other countries are stricter with their players. In fact Ponting went through a worse phase for a longer period than either Sachin or Dravid but wasnt dropped or forced into retirement

1. BCCI won't budge. Srinivasan recently said that umpire decision should be considered final and we should not question it. Don't know where this archaic thinking comes from but you can get an idea of the mind set. There is resistance from officials as well as some key players. 2. Gambhir could be dropped. And who will come in his place? 3. Tendu has said earlier that he will look at his performance after the England series. So in all probability, he might take some decisions and announce his retirement. If this happens, Gambhir won't be dropped. Two senior batsmen out of the test squad leaves a gap to fill. Losing a home series to England is bad, regardless of what happens about the above scenarios.
