Have picked the players who recently played for India A on the two A tours of NZ and WI and we can use the thread to track their performances as some of these guys must surely be ahead of others for a slot in the national side Stats updated after the end of the prelim rounds (on 2nd Jan 2012), numbers in the brackets indicate the stats as on 1st Dec 2012 Batsmen : Shikhar Dhawan - 770 runs@59 with 4 100s ( was 520 runs@74 with 3 100s) Manoj Tiwary - 492 runs@61 with 1 100 (384 runs@64 with 1 100) Robin Bisht - 559 runs@57 (378 runs@63) Rohit Sharma - 712 @71 (229 runs@57 with 1 100) Unmukt Chand - 445 runs @37 (243 runs@49 with 1 100) Ambatti Rayudu - 558@51 (279 runs@47 with 1 100) Abhinav Mukund - 417 runs@28 (213 runs@21 with no 100s) Anustup Majumdar - has been injured-166 runs@17 Surya Kumar Yadav - 58 runs@14 (11 runs@11) Mandeep Singh - 450 runs@32 (68 runs@10) Ashok Menaria - 458 runs@29 (63 runs@10) Keepers: Wridhiman Saha - 607 runs@47 (467 runs@67) Naman Ojha - 518 runs@37 (374 runs@54) All rounder: Jalaj Saxena - 791 runs@61 (409 runs@58), 17 wickets@41 (14 wickets@33) Bhuvaneshwar Kumar - 401 runs@50 (322 runs@64), 30 wickets@24 (19 wickets@28) Pacers: Shami Ahmed - 28 wickets@21 (14 wickets@19) R Vinay Kumar - 22 wickets@23 (17 wickets@19) Parwinder Awana - 26 wickets@28 (12 wickets@33) Rituraj Singh - 26 wickets@38 (14 wickets@43) Jaydev Unadkat - 14 wickets@44 (5 wickets@53) Spinners: Akshay Darekar - 10 wickets@63 (7 wickets@580 Rahul Sharma - 5 wickets@110 ( 5 wickets@77) Among the batsmen Mukund, Majumdar, Mandeep, Menaria and Surya Yadav seem to have totally lost their form and are struggling big time. Bowlers, especially the spinners seem to have lost their way. Raul Sharma may have bowled himself out of national contention across formats for sometime and Darekar seems to be having 2nd season blues. The best performers are the keepers Saha and Ojha who are both doing well with the bat and then the all rounders Saxena and Bhuvaneshwar who are both good with the bat and having decent returns with the ball. Will keep updating this thread frequently to track the performances of these players. Great thread. :two_thumbs_up: Was planning to do the same but felt too lazy. The team that went to NZ has been atrocious the whole season. The batsmen specially. Now A-tours are spoiling the techniques of our own guns :hitler:

Shahbaaz Nadeem has been the standout bowler till now' date=' but against some weak opponents.[/quote'] how has Harmeet Singh done

Not played Ranji in this season yet. Heard he was injured at the beginning of the Ranji season. He anyway has to compete with Ramesh Powar and Iqbal Abdullah for a spot, and Ramesh Powar remains the preferred choice. Played one Duleep Trophy match. Stats were 2/147 and 2/41. Got 0/45 and 4/45 against Rajasthan in the Irani Trophy final.

Has been injured mostly and got hit by the English performance Squad playing for DY Patil Academy
Yes, that was 2/127. So, basically he has been rubbish in whatever matches he has played.

I know this India A, but also worthwhile keeping track of the recent successful India U19. Sandeep Sharma has been most impressive, taken over 24 wkts at an average of 17! Also Smit Patel has scored nearly 400 runs at an approx aver of 48. Vihari has scored 330 runs at an aver. of 48. (must say this guy was awful in Australia) Chand, Prashant Chopra and Baba Aparajith also playing, all have scored one hundred this season. Others, Kalaria, Vikas Mishra

Rayudu seems like, he is not a flat track bully. Did well in NZ on all difficult tracks. Akshath Reddy can be another opener if Mukund gets dropped.

Rayudu is the best bet amongst the current lot, he is more accomplished compared to the likes of Yuvraj, Raina, Tiwary, etc.

Good for Unmukt. Obviously he has the talent. Mandeep and Menaria have the talent but :wall: Rohit needs to be tried in tests.
:(( unmukt is really grabbing the opportunity i can see him coming in our one day side very soon
