CG Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 My bad. Thanks for the clarification. It is getting a bit more believable. But' date=' I'm not there yet :-). I have to get past Jimmy's pitching for the Delhi-boys for captaincy deal first! Also, trying to get rid of Dhoni from the 50-over LOI captaincy is fishy. Tests? Yes. 50-over LOIs? Smelly.[/quote'] Fishy:hysterical::hysterical:.We have been hammered 5-0 in odis in england,Lost to south africa 3-2, humiliated in champions trophy,Asia cup,3 T20 world cups, again in asia cup and did not make final of cb series.Dhoni should be sacked form every format. Secondly It was a unanimous decison third we had to plan for 2016 world cup.
rkt.india Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 I would like to see Srikkanth back Amarnath's story. Or any of the other selectors during that time. If it's true, then there are some serious integrity issues with BCCI and Indian cricket as a whole. Raja Venkat on CNNIbn said dhoni to be fired. Cheeka is saying the same now.
Malcolm Merlyn Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 Hmmmm....So all selectors are.saying the same. And the shameless.Srini hasnt said a thing.Throw him out of Bcci.Is Srini a congress stooge?

Losing to SA 3-2 with a depleted squad is a good achievement - in the past tours we haven't even got that close. SA ODI series was close and fought on an even keel.

Crookbond Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 we lost 4-0 with full squad in 2006. Yes - I know that. Even in 2001 I don't think we won a single ODI against South Africa in SA. Kenya was the other team and I believe we lost 1 ODI against Kenya too? We reached the finals and duly got hammered.

Crookbond Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 Yes that is the benchmark now. Funny - You choose to ignore the spirit of my reply. It was to point out embellishment of facts to make one's argument sound more convincing. I merely pointed out the wrong facts and that stands irrespective of what you want to extrapolate on it. :cantstop: Sorry 2 got abandoned it was 3-0 Same thing. So what our benchmark for future is so low.India have not done well abroad in odis and t20s .Being humiliated in champions trophy ' date='Asia cup cup twice ,Cb series,3 World t20s and 2015 wc in aus/nz.[/quote'] CG, You want to twist words fine - lets try this. So, a 2-3 narrow loss without a full blooded ODI side (game going to the last match of the series) is a "low benchmark"? :good: You should be kidding me that we are not a good ODI side in the last 3-4 years. I don't think we have been better than that - after 2011 WC we have had our down slide but before it we were as good as one gets. In fact, it is only under Dravid that we started being a force in ODI's at home. We were pathetic for 5 years under Ganguly! T20s I will agree but now doing :cantstop: OR :hysterical: OR :haha: and saying we are not good in ODI's outside India between 2008-2011 would be quite naive & probably shows that you aren't really interested in having a mature discussion. I would suggest that you make your "agreeable point" about MS Dhoni and move on.

Regarding Southafrica They were missing kallis too .Also we have been consistently poor in england odis,Australian cb series, champions trophy,Asia cup.We went back to like of nehra .We are a average odi side nothing more.We will be exposed more as 2 bouncers are allowed now .
ravishingravi Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 Ah! Dhoni fanboys. The extent to which they would go. My heart bleeds blue for you.

If loss is a loss, would you agree that we were below par (since we are "average" when we win we should be below par when we lose) under Ganguly's captaincy. Forget finals - we couldn't even beat West Indies, England, Pakistan in a bilateral series at home under Ganguly. Which years are we talking about? IMO - India's most productive ODI period in history has been 2008-2011. First pick the time frame and then lets discuss.

Yeah Ganguly was worse in odis at home. What i am saying is we have been poor away recently in Odis and in big events like champions trophy which was also in away conditions .We have a world cup coming up in australia. So if selectors wanted kohli to captain i am with them.

Fair enough - I don't see Dhoni going to 2015 ODI WC anyways.
