What the BCCI needs to do for Sachin

Sachin is clearly having a poor run of form right now as any player who has played International Cricket goes through at some point in their career, the fact is though Sachin is not just any player, he is a true legend of the game an icon of our sport. When he retires one day we will truly appreciate what a genius that graced our game and how privileged we were that he did it for our team. Most professional players that are close to retirement have a benefit season, but being the man that holds all the major battings records, Sachin deserves to have a benefit Test Series, what the BCCI need to do is make him skipper for the series v Australia, it will be a fitting way to pay tribute to the little master they also need to make all the players give up their match fees for the series and give it to Sachin so that we can make the series v Australia a benefit series for Sachin. The little master deserves respect from us the fans and from the world of cricket, this will be a fitting way for him to get the kind of tribute fit for a legend.

In a benefit series or a testimonial its more about the taking part and giving and showing true respect to a legend! Generating a high amount of revenue and appreciating the little master would be the purpose of a benefit series for Sachin! with this in mind Australia in India is the perfect series for this to happen!

Who the hell said that? I was watching an interview with a BJP politician. These are the points he said about Sachin after the kolkata game and I agree wholeheartedly: -Sachin has 100 100's, we can't judge him -Sachin has earnt the right to go on his terms -Sachin has said he will let us know when he wants to retire so why discuss. Yet we see the same threads pop up everyday by a small bitter minority. We should focus on all the other spots in the team filled by people who have barely proved themselves. Not an ATG. He is enjoying the game you can see that from when he is fielding even after all these years and his contribution goes beyond batting. As I said we have more imminent issues with other players, coaches and selectors.

Absolutely not this is a Test Series and we must show the game utmost respect! Australia should play their best team, we are just looking at the perfect setting for a set of testimonial games for Sachin, and the series against Aus seems the perfect time to do it!

That is just being stupid, if you follow Cricket you will know that Namibia do not play Test Cricket and besides if you are accepting that he is a great match, then the set of tribute matches need to be against a great team.

Seriously the best thing they could have done was dropped him and asked him to play Ranji during the England series. He should have played Irani and Duleep too. If planned properly even before England series he could have played 4-5 First Class games instead of just one on custom made featherbed track for him to score runs. Could solved or confirmed many things.

Yes, in this benefit series we should also ask the Australian bowlers to not take wickets, ask fielders not to catch the ball and umpires not to give him out. This is the only way he will score runs. Indian test cricket anyhow has become benefit fund for cricketers who have done well in past and in IPL and ODIs.
