If you look at it he hasn't done much after world cup. he skipped a lot of ODIs. He came back against BD just to get the 100th 100 monkey off his back.

Even if he had scored like mountains of runs after that , retiring right after world cup would have been perfect. Had an opportunity to sign off on a high note. What better than a world cup win.

Given his success, he would have thought worst case scenario would be he will score just 2-3 hundreads. Infact, same for the tests.

Tendulkar missed 26 of them. This makes postponement of retirement even more puzzling. Even against BD he would have missed. But he had to get the monkey off his back.

Leaving on a high note is like a going away present. A guy like Sachin deserved far better stage to announce his retirement. With his fitness not holding up for IPL, test, ODis ... it was perfect timing. Now that he played 10 more matches for meagre 315 runs and that shouldn't take anything away from his career.

He is the greatest to have played the game. His last innings in an ODI was a very good 50. He still had it in him. You all wanted to him to fail and not play and you got your wishes. As soon as one person achieves too much, everyone gets jealous of him. That is the story of humanity, and the degenerates on here, who used to claim to be fans but then started praying for his retirement. Go on Pak Passion and see how sad Pakistani fans are to see him having to go, if you don't believe me.

An average of 31 in 10 matches since the World Cup. The one century he scored was a disgrace against Bangladesh off a million deliveries on a patta and resulted in India getting kicked out of the Asia Cup. Sure, nothing wrong with his ODI form. I would be surprised if you find anything wrong even in his test form. Wasn't he supposed to shut up all haters? What happened to getting the monkey off the back exercise for which sacrificing a cricket match was supposed to be worth it because he would plunders attacks after losing the 50 kilos?
