In his 23rd year of international cricket, Sachin Tendulkar, born on 23rd April 1973, announced his retirement from the one-day format last week on the 23rd December 2012. Arguably his finest moments in the format came on 22nd and 24th April 1998 versus Australia at Sharjah, either side of his birthday on 23rd April 1998. Tony Greig, who had impinged himself on Indian cricket commentary consciousness during these knocks, famously called a young Tendulkar the 'nearest thing to Bradman you will ever see'. He passed away today. Thank you both for the wonderful memories. Goose. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

He was actually born on the 24th of April, so he played that epic final winning knock in Sharjah on his 25th birthday. :--D
