Which loss hurt you the most over the last couple of years?

the 0-8 loss ( worst overseas losing streak since 1968) was roughly anticipated and thus did not hurt a lot. What did infuriate true fans of indian test cricket were the incantations of the delusional majority of being the "best team in the world."
India was a very good team prior to 2011 in tests and ODIs.

No loss was hurting, the way they have played i have stopped following indian cricket news and have lost interest in the game. Clearly selfish players are there in indian team, if you see for example, Sachin Tendulkar, i am a great fan of his batting, but the stubbornness to hold on to 4th position in test matches is baffling even if any of top 3 is injured . You look at Mahela Jayawardene , he batted at 3 in recent test match because Sangakkara was injured. This is one of the examples how players take their position.

5. 1-2 loss to Eng at home Loss didn't hurt, drama outside Cricket field hurt. All that pitch type fiasco, biased selection, propaganda commentators, and Denial. Early captains like Ganguly made us 'look like' world beaters (India was never world beater, but atleast Ganguly's men played bravely), Dhoni made us 'look like' minnow who can win and play only on placid flat tracks.

yesterdays loss to pakistan was disconcerting . In ODI's at home this was a capitulation seen rarely since the 90's while chasing a modest target of 250. It seems the team and the fans at Eden have become accustomed to frequent humiliations.

1. 0-4 loss to Eng in Eng
Came as an absolute shocker, and the series was summed up by the meek cave in to Ian Bell incident at Trent Bridge. It hurts even more now because absolutely no lessons from that experience have been taken on board to rectify such a situation doesn't happen, e.g. addressing things such as poor planning, lack of warms-up, lack of new blood, change in leadership, future of Dravid, Laxman, Tendu, and Zaheer, picking Bhajji, Gambhir, and Ishant.

Don't care about this loss to Pakistan. The 0-4 loss to a mediocre Australian side was painful. At least we know now that England are a good side at home, and now away too. Asia Cup, T20, who cares.

4-0 : Disastrous 8-0 : Utterly humiliating The reactions after 8-0 : This was the worst part, treasonous in cricketing terms. It was as if the downfall was successfully on its way as planned and the board along with the players were happy about it.

0-4 loss to Aus in Aus Australia was a mediocre team (who had been skilled out for sub 100 totals repeatedly and were even beaten by New Zealand) and this was the best ever chance we had to make history. Clarke, Ponting, Warner et al just ripped us apart, at one point Australia score 700 runs for the loss of one wicket! And Australia used the India series to regain confidence and now a powerful team which pushed South Africa to its limits. England white wash was painful, but at least we were missing some key players, and there was the beleif that this was an odd unlucky series. Australia tour changed the perception completely. The home loss to England wasn't so painful because it was expected, and confirmed the fact that the decline is there to stay for a while and no miracles are waiting to happen. I am not bothered about ODI losses.

Most of us will hopefully become immune from now on. The 0-4 loss to Australia at home won't hurt The 0-3 loss to SA and the 39 all out won't hurt ...
Nah we are eternal optimist ....we will still back our team and will cry like this after every series With ipl in between to cheer us up...everything is planned:giggle:

The loss of Sachin far exceeds anything which goes on on a strip of grass with players hitting opponants balls with their stick.
but sachin exactly did this infact in last 2 years he missed the ball with his stick more often then not :idunno: how can player be bigger then the game he plays ?:orderorder:

The loss against BD in Asia Cup where our Greatest Legend of India was led down by other 10 useless members of the team .
That was probably the least important loss considering it was t20 and the fact we have been whitewashed in 2 big test series!

It wasn't T20 it was in the Asia cup. Tendulkar does not play T 20 cricket

Losing the Test series to England at home. Our home Test record was the one thing we could hold on to even in the worst of times. But under the Srinivasan/Dhoni regime even that is gone and we are well and truly the biggest laughing stock of the cricket world. Yes, NZ and Bangladesh are even worse than us on paper but they don't have the gazillions of dollars the BCCI has (and in NZ's case the millions of players).
