Ultimate_Game Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 Since the 2011 WC, the only results we have seen huge defeats to all-comers and across all formats - home and away. Wanted to find out which loss hurt you the most. Personally I was gutted by the 0-4 loss in Aus. I hoped that Eng's 0-4 result was a kick up our back-side for being too over-confident after the WC and with most Aussie stars retired, we will be able to cash in and break our series duck in Australia. But not to be  Aussies 0-4 loss is followed closely by 1-2 series loss at home to England, our first home series loss in 8 years and first to England in 30 years. Here's the list of contenders... 1. 0-4 loss to Eng in Eng 2. 0-4 loss to Aus in Aus 3. Asia Cup loss 4. T20 Cup defeat 5. 1-2 lossto Eng at home 6. Odi series loss to Pak at home
nevada Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 0-4 in England. It was the beginning of the end.
daryl1985 Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Your right 0-4 in Australia and 1-2 at home to England were the worst 2. The Australia one was particularly bad because many of us thought the 0-4 in England was an aberration. We had injury problems going into the England series and seemed under-prepared and ended up getting hammered by a very good team. In Australia, we were better prepared, had a virtually full strength side and ended up getting just as one sided a beating as we got in England (only this time we got beat by a team not quite as good as England). The 1-2 home defeat to England was painful because it confirmed out suspicions that we were also **** in home conditions. The fact that Pakistan whitewashed England and that England could only draw in Sri Lanka also made us think we would just unleash our spinners on England and they would fold.

philcric Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 0-4 to Aussies was the worst. 0-8 in 8 tests by itself was horrid, but the way we lost took it to a whole different level. Out of the 8 tests, we were not in a chance to win even 1, I remember we were still in the game after the 2 innings only in 2 test matches. (Compare that to 91 tour of Australia, a very bad one for India, lost 0-4 in 5 match series, much inferior team,, but even then we could have won the drawn sydney test if not for rain and we lost another one by 30 odd runs,, so we actually had a chance to win 2 tests out of 5). And Mr. Dhoni feels 0-8 was nothing compared to WC '07 where essentially we had 1 really bad loss to a minnow.
Jersey #10 Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 The loss of Sachin Tendulkar from the ODIs hurt the most.
Clarke Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 4-0 : Disastrous 8-0 : Utterly humiliating The reactions after 8-0 : This was the worst part, treasonous in cricketing terms. It was as if the downfall was successfully on its way as planned and the board along with the players were happy about it.
TestPlayer Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 @ Opening post. You didn't mention the ODI whitewash in England and inability to qualify for the tri-series finals in Australia. 0-8 loss in England and Australia hurt most. In fact, loss against England at home hurt equally too. I should also mention the loss against Bangladesh where Selfish Tendu got his selfish 100th 100. It also hurt. The loss of Sachin Tendulkar from the ODIs hurt the most. That was the best thing that happened among all these bad days.
Magneto Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Most of us will hopefully become immune from now on. The 0-4 loss to Australia at home won't hurt The 0-3 loss to SA and the 39 all out won't hurt ...
Small_town_boy Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 0-4 loss against australia & current odi series ..
Clarke Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Most of us will hopefully become immune from now on. The 0-4 loss to Australia at home won't hurt The 0-3 loss to SA and the 39 all out won't hurt ... 0-4 loss against australia & current odi series .. Since Eng>Aus with a better batting lineup & spin pair, mayybeeeee we can scamper through to a drawn series :nervous:
bharat297 Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Since Eng>Aus with a better batting lineup & spin pair' date=' mayybeeeee we can scamper through to a drawn series :nervous:[/quote'] Unfortunately the law of transitivity doesn't apply when you have an Indian team that is getting worse every day!
Magneto Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Since Eng>Aus with a better batting lineup & spin pair' date=' mayybeeeee we can scamper through to a drawn series :nervous:[/quote'] If I were you, I would worry more about being 39 all out :winky: The spinning trio of Lyon, Doherty and Clarke maybe the new wall India will bang its head against.
Small_town_boy Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Since Eng>Aus with a better batting lineup & spin pair' date=' mayybeeeee we can scamper through to a drawn series :nervous:[/quote'] It's true that they don't have good spin attack ...but all of their batsmen are in good form and they have experience on Indian pitches due to ipl... I don't see us winning unless a miracle happens from our bowlers ... Its pointless to think of our batting ..
Clarke Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 If I were you' date=' I would worry more about being [b']39 all out :winky: The spinning trio of Lyon, Doherty and Clarke maybe the new wall India will bang its head against. That's a year later :beee: I care about what happens in the coming weeks.
Magneto Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 That's a year later :beee: I care about what happens in the coming weeks. Be prepared to lose 0-4 and rejoice and party if we manage to draw one Test. India will 'win' the series mentally anyway. :two_thumbs_up:
NareshK Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 The home series loss against England was the worst. I can imagine India not doing well overseas against good teams but losing test series against England after 28 years is just pathetic. That's the nadir of Indian cricket.
amiret Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 1. 0-4 loss to Eng in Eng 2. 0-4 loss to Aus in Aus the 0-8 loss ( worst overseas losing streak since 1968) was roughly anticipated and thus did not hurt a lot. What did infuriate true fans of indian test cricket were the incantations of the delusional majority of being the "best team in the world."
vayuu1 Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Has to be agneepath (ga*** phat raha hai) and angrezo ki pungi/bansuri(angrezo ke l**e) series in England we had a team which was injured and underprepared ,but in Australia we were with a full strength side ,yet unhone ga**. Ke ghode khol diye ,and the less said about angrezo ki bansuri the better ,barring pujara every one was gang banged
rkt.india Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 its just a game, enjoy cricket, not win or loss. :winky:
