King Tendulkar Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 For the record I feel cos of his batting he should be in the team in all formats. But if he did bat like a no 11, would he be in the team as our No 1 spinner?

The primary purpose of the 4 bowlers is wickets, batting as a criterion comes much later. Edit: talking about tests.

NareshK Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Ojha becomes predictable with the pace at which he bowls and the line and length. Not a candidate for ODIs or T20s. Need more variations to survive on flat tracks.
Marut Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Ojha has some county experience, bowling on unhelpful English grounds, and it shows in his bowling. He is more crafty than Ashwin. Had Ashwin bowled as well as Ojha, the English series would have been closer. (probably 1-1). I am afraid Ashwin would go on to become a specialist batsman and part time bowler.

He describes how he fought off polio as a child, was obsessed with batting and wanted to become the best close-in fielder in the country, then trained to be a phhaast bowler and got bored, then trained to become a leg spinner inspired by Warne and was brilliant at it and got bored and then started bowling off-spin and would get hattricks almost in every alternate match. How he was the opening batsman and bowler for TN in his debut match and how he strives for excellence and how there is no point trying if he cannot deliver excellent results. It's all there, time for someone to take note and make it into a Bollywood film with Ajay Devgan as hero.
