He knows his contract won't get extended, so if any motivation was there it would have completely died by now, so absolutely no point keeping him for just 4 months. Better give new coach some more time, if not then get an interim coach.

We also need to rest our seniors and blood some young faces. Results do not matter but long term planning has to start with the next series.

Maybe 2 things are left.... Soon will lose to Eng in ODIS Aus to come and whitewash us...... Losing a ODI series at home will be the final nail! I just feel for it to happen v England especially in a best of 5 is too much and would be unfamiliar territory. Remember Anderson has always struggling in the short form and gets rattled easily, England have good (but not great) bench strength with fast bowlers. Bigger boost would be if they rest any batsman, wont be KP as he is already sitting out NZ.

He should have been sacked after Eng, BCCI are just saving pennies by not having to give him a payoff probably. Every other country would have sacked him by now, chelski would have sacked him after 1st test loss v Aus!
