nikred Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 Nice one. So every woman is a sita and every man is a raavan. Don't expect anything else from the douche brigade. BTW why do people think Raavan was a bad human being? (other than abducting sita) I've my own reason (I would like other people's take on it) It's totally irrelevant to this thread.
AGHORI Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 India demographics Rural Population: approx. 72% Urban Population: approx. 28% Now your call and moron media how to interpret these stats, then just labeling it "far greater". The above report busted the claims of a moron who stated that everything is perfect in rural areas. There are lot of unreported rape cases from rural areas.Anyway these reports shows the pathetic condition of both rural and urban areas
CSK Fan Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 Makes another great statement http://www.ndtv.com/article/india/restrict-women-to-household-work-another-shocker-from-rss-chief-mohan-bhagwat-313779?pfrom=home-lateststories Indore: A day after he sparked a controversy by saying that rapes happen in India not Bharat, right-wing Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh's (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat has done it again. Now, he says women should restrict themselves to doing household chores, according to what he calls the theory of social contract. "Theory of contract, theory of social contract, a husband and wife are bound by a contract which says "you (woman) look after the household chores and satisfy me, I (man) will take care of your needs and will protect you", and until she delivers her duties without fail, he keeps her on the contract and if she fails to honour the contract, he disowns her and if it is the same with the husband who is not honouring the contract, she can also abandon him and go for a new contract then," he said yesterday while addressing a gathering of RSS workers in Indore, Madhya Pradesh What I would like to know is why do the wives, daughters, etc of these people keep quiet and support such people

CSK Fan Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 I dont understand why RSS/BJP is trying to isolate young Indians here. Most of young Indians are anti-congress and pro- BJP now, but targeting young urban Indians like this is only going to alienate them. Dont they understand their own demographics? BJP has a habit of hitting the axe on their own foot.

CSK Fan Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 You speak as if the BJP is some chic urban party :hehe: No, but if they dont win this next election, which congress has handed to them on a platter, when will then win? they are getting free votes because of congress but they dont seem to want it. They should just know that young urban India is very pro-BJP nowadays and they shouldnt target them

Narendra Modi also made a couple of silly statements recently - didnt affect his victory. In any case, BJP has only an outside chance (that too if it projects Modi as PM), we are probably going to end up with Rahul Gandhi as PM.
seedhi Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 Apparently, according to RSS the excerpt was actually regarding the western contract system of marriage. There is no concept of divorce in the traditional Hindu marriage thus it is different from a contract. RSS spokesman Ram Madhav said the projection of Bhagwat's views on the marriage system in the Indian context is "totally false". "It is totally falsifying his views. He said the western marriage system is contractual where a man and a woman consider marriage as a contract whereas he also went on to say that Indian marriage system is a very sacred institution. "In this, the woman has a place of great respect and the man has certain obligations towards the family and the way the whole thing was projected was as though Bhagwat was calling Indian marriage contractual. This is total distortion of what he has said," according to Madhav. http://news.outlookindia.com/items.aspx?artid=786043

The 2nd largest party in India is being led by an imbecile does not make substantial difference? Unless you are a fanboy I fail to see why you are questioning this. As for Narendra Modi, his charm works in one state, And within that state he can do wrong. Dont compare him with Mohan Bhagwat.

Dont compare him with Mohan Bhagwat.I was only doubting the electoral impact of this alleged statement (RSS says that it is a misquote). Very few people, even in urban India actually care about what Mohan Bhagwat says. Of course, I dont agree with any such statement that women should confine themselves in their homes, and I dont think thats what he said - I saw a larger portion of his statement and he was mocking the contract model of marriage.

seedhi Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 RSS Clarifies Bhagwats Comments http://www.timesnow.tv/videoshow/4418286.cms He seemed to be mocking what he calls is the theory of social contract - a western concept.
