Debutant Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Actually he did well and I would argue he played better as a captain. There are 2 types of players where one plays better as a captain while another plays worse as a captain. Rohit seems to be at the former category which is good as he enjoys the responsibility. Kohli performed much better than Rohit. Rohit had a better team. I can not think of any captain who can win anything with RCB bowlers. As for individual performance, Kohli performed much better than Rohit. Then why do you want Rohit to captain India rather than Kohli ???

I'll take that any day over individual performance. Vettori took them to the finals in 2011 with the same side or well, with much worse bowling attack with Vettori in horrible form, no Vinay, No Murali but with the likes of Mithun and Aravind.
Debutant Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Kohli didn't reach the play offs. :giggle: Great logic

BTW FYI, RCB had 3 of the best batsman in the world. And it's a captain job to make a team work. In some cases, a team of superstars work together as a team ( like MI who failed in the last 5 years) or a team of inexperienced players ( RR with Dravid). Thus, give credit to the captain Rohit as MI struggled before he was the captain. Kohli had his challenges and he himself understood it well enough. He asked their team to buy like 10-15 fast bowlers and they definitely had a big stocks number of bowlers in their team. Yet, he failed with his executions. And then add his bad antics in the field. Finally, as Indian fans, we need options not destined next captain. No one knows who will be a better captain but at least there ought to be some choices.
SLICKR392 Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Out of 6 IPLs, RCB made it to the playoff stage thrice and Kohli led the side twice where they failed to make it to the playoffs.

The unique quality of this guy is he is as bad as two bad bowlers (Dinda + Mithun). Can you imagine playing with this guy. And you are talking as if Vinay Kumar is some kinda world class bowler. RCB bowling in IPL 7 was the worst of all the teams in any IPL season

Yeah RCB had 15 fast bowlers like Mithun, Vinay Kumar, RP Singh. WOW
Crookbond Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Kohli was much better than him. Rohit failed to make any impact in the play offs. Great logic  Aapne hi toh diya yeh logic. Rohit failed in the playoffs and compared to Kohli.

RCB bowling in IPL 7 was the worst of all the teams in any IPL season No, it was 2011 where they had the most horrible attack and Nannes did not play all the games. Vinay is better than Mithun or Aravind, has won them & KTK in 2011 plenty of games and MI had RP last year and yet made it to the play offs. If RP is as bad as Mithun and Dinda combined then why did Kohli opt him ahead of Mithun? I quote Someone here... RCB had 3 of the best batsman in the world. And it's a captain job to make a team work Pune have the worst attack and the stats agree to it. Mocking and being sarcastic to Rohit in the MI vs RCB (in Mumbai ) game that he would have batted second and getting hammered shows his quality of decision making.
vvvslaxman Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 1) Establishing the fact and getting others to accept that Kohli is just one of the many talented individuals in Indian cricket right now and not very special over and above them as some blind fans claim. Pujara and Rohit are much more talented OP :hehe: seriously ? This loser gets more hype than any other guy. Just read today's cricinfo article.
someone Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Yeah RCB had 15 fast bowlers like Mithun' date=' Vinay Kumar, RP Singh. WOW[/quote'] Being sarcastic? A good captain should be capable of making their team play better. Look at RR, they perhaps have the worst team, yet it was their captain who provided the leadership and inspiration to lift the team. Thus, your reasons of having a poor team is rubbish really.

King Tendulkar Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Look the following statement is not to promote or attack Kohli or any other player. YOU CANNOT JUDGE HOW A PLAYER WILL BE AS A CAPTAIN BY IPL PERFORMACES!!! Bloody IPL, people seriously judging who should be indian cpatain by god dammn IPL!!
Sidhoni Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 ^What about Kohli's inspirational leadership then? :winky: J/K Yup agreed. Rohit doesn't even deserve a place in the Indian XI, let alone vice captaincy

YOU CANNOT JUDGE HOW A PLAYER WILL BE AS A CAPTAIN BY IPL PERFORMACES!!! Bloody IPL, people seriously judging who should be indian cpatain by god dammn IPL!! then you cant be in favor of kohli by his IPL performances either. what kind of double standard are you proposing that only good IPL performances should be looked at and kohli's on-field MC/BC display should not?
King Tendulkar Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 ^What about Kohli's inspirational leadership then? :winky: J/K Yup agreed. Rohit doesn't even deserve a place in the Indian XI, let alone vice captaincy that thread was a p taking thread.:--D seriously who should be indian skipper based on tamasha ipl. world has gone mad
King Tendulkar Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 then you cant be in favor of kohli by his IPL performances either. Agree Its all rubbish
Sandeep99 Posted May 28, 2013 Author Posted May 28, 2013 Rohit Sharma looked composed and cool. Kohli is a cry baby and attacks his bowlers when things don't go his way... Place in the Indian team itself is a gift to the rat, let alone captaincy
