Seems only a few people have an idea as to what Sachin actually achieved. i am not even talking about records but his consistency and you can count tours on one hand where he failed through out the series and most of them will be in his last 2 years when he was done and played for stupid record even guys like dravid struggled to be that consistent and only people here who i have seen seriously compare kohli to sachin is austin and 1-2 more guys

I actually meant that. :-) Sachin's averages in England are 61, 85, 66, 38, and 34. And our new Sachins are struggling to average 20 in 9 Tests (home and away). India is actually not built for more than 2 overseas Tests at a time currently. This is the same reason as to why Kohli and Rahane looked successful in SA and NZ.

That is the biggest heartbreak. Kohli is a form guy, either he is UP or he is DOWN. He seemed clueless in the first 2 Tests and he sulked and moped and could not find a way out of it. He is completely mentally fatigued. I don't know what happened to Rahane. Who the F gets out 'caught and bowled' 3 times in 4 Tests to pie-chuckers. I am sure they all care. Kohli is the least likely to succeed because of temperamental issues. I don't think he even has a 200 in any format of the game. Pujara and Rahane have to sort out their technical flaws. They will surely come good in the future. I suspect we have seen the peak of Vijay. It's gonna be probably all downhill for him from hereon. Would be glad to be proven wrong here though.

Nowhere in the world does the ball move as consistently and almost always as England. One big difference is the lack of county cricket experience. Something that the Sachins and Gangulies had. Not having the experience and mental makeup , to play a 5 test series, in alien conditions, is perhaps another big reason.

Jampacked schedule doesnt help either I remember how Mukund scored a 100 in the practice match last time after which he was replaced by Sehwag who did a big fat nothing.
