His captaincy reeks of being extra defensive, just surrendering when the opposition counter attacks and getting all his favorite Rhiti guys in the team. Since the World cup we havent won anything of note except a bilateral series against England. Lost the CB series and lost the Asia cup as well, now a ODI series defeat at home. What is bothering is that the spineless selectors refuse to hold Dhoni accountable for any of these defeats. Amarnath's comments show how Selectors wanted to drop Dhoni but were vetoed on. If BCCI wants selectors only to take decisions which they want, why have a panel in the fist place? Might as well make Dhoni the captain, coach and selector too. +1.

If kohli is made the captain , how will he handle dhoni ? Will it work ? Will dhoni take orders frm him ? Kohli is a junior is dhoni is a world cup winning captain .. wish shewag or gambhir was in form
Vikas Bhatt Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 At 34 and such bad fitness levels, Sehwag cannot be an answer as he will be 37 by then and much worse. he will be either retired or forced to retire for poor fitness and even worse form. He never had the technique and was a eye-hand co-ordination player. Neither get faster with age and without technique he cannot survive long. He will get much worse now unless he miraculously works on fitness and his defense and learns to accumulate than strike out at everything outside the off stump! The fact that he hasn't got a 100 outside India in 4 years and against good bowlers or on bowl friendly wickets shows this decline sharply. ATM, selectors should end his one day career and play in middle order in tests. Time to groom a new opener with better technique and fitness.

I would have Dhoni as captain till 2015 and then hand over the reigns to Kohli. This guy has lost that India could have lost in last one and half years and you want to see this to continue for another two years. Hats off to you. :hatsoff:. So, off the top of my head 8-0 loss, plus home test series defeat plus booted out of any tournament of any note since the WC plus now a loss to Pak. at home and there is still hope. We deserve this mess.
