Actually my criterion is somewhat like this For tests: Performace in Ranji -> Duleep trophy -> A tours/practice matches against visiting teams -> Tests For ODI's: Performace in Ranji ODIs -> Challengers ->A tours/practice matches against visiting teams -> ODI's For T20I: IPL but exceptional talents need to be fast tracked direclty to ODI's or tests to gauge their temperament..
fast tracking after just 1 season is not good idea imo batting on touch tracks is never easy if we have same type of pitches next year this guy will really benefit playing 1 more season same with chand im sure he will improve after playing on these tracks in 1 or 2 years lets just hope this policy of green track does not changes..

By the same logic you should have Deodhar Trophy for ODIs as well. But still, just Deodhar and Challenger is too less a sample size to select anyone.

If someone does good in BOTH IPL and Domestic, then he should be in the team for ODIs and Tests. Domestic should be used for developing skill and talent, while IPL should be used for seeing if a particular player can play WITH & AGAINST Intl players from different countries. :nice:

Never since you started this thread. KT destroy's another youngster's career
Mods I request this joke be put in smiles section. As it will save the poor souls typing it over and over again. And the most predictable joke of the day goes to..........:hysterical:

If he continues the form of last year in this Ranji Season too then he may have a chance . There are many who had a brilliant first year in Domestic cricket & then they fade away after that.

He is not a international material.....period....Can get some runs in domestic circuit but fails badly against better teams
you have not even seen him bat once ...period and he played on green track last season and scored ton after ton and even here got through new ball spell of genuine international bowlers who have actually played some test cricket .

He is a proper opener who knows how to get through new ball. He scored runs at seam friendly Mohali pitch where his team's bowlers ran through oppositions and he scored 100s.

yep..i just dont get why some people label players failure for no reason without even seeing them or knowing how he scored runs. even this inning is not a failure as he gave solid start after chand got out and then rest of batting was able to attack

Having said that, the pitch really didn't possess too many demons. It was the quintessential batting paradise. A better wicket Zol couldn't have asked for on debut. And opener Jiwanjot Singh had blunted the new-ball with a straight, unwavering bat and enviable composure for one so young.

What makes u think that i haven't seen him....Plsss...Dont assume things...I have seen him in one of those domestic matches.....I had huge expectations from him as he scored lots of runs as a opener on green mohali pitch. But, I was totally disappointed. Lots of hits and misses.....I hope it was a one off match and he has a better technique

yeah even i saw that..it did not prove anything honestly.. many people lose form in season and gain it back .. another example is pandey who lost all rhythm at end of season (when g_b saw him play ) thats hwy he was called tundler by many but 2-3 matches before he was looking like world beater :giggle:

yes it was too short a innings to judge imo. From the reports he seems a classical opener who can see off the new ball without taking too many risks. Can be a very good prospect.Should have been on SA A tour instead of Mooli imo
