G_B_ Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 Bhai' date= e ka a karke aapne poore post ka naksha ki badal diya just some fun. Hope you dont mind. :--D
G_B_ Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 Team management yet to take a call on Sehwag's opening partner http://sports.ndtv.com/cricket/news/item/203905-team-management-yet-to-take-a-call-on-sehwags-opening-partner Among the quartet of spinners, Ravindra Jadeja bowled the maximum while Ravichandran Ashwin and Pragyan Ojha also spent a fair bit of time bowling to the likes of Sachin Tendulkar, Cheteshwar Pujara and Virat Kohli. hmm surprised Rahane is not part of the opening choices.
Needforspeed Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 Typical of the Indian team. Aussies have already announced the XI. That way the guys who are playing are already mentally relaxed and prepared.
G_B_ Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 for all we know they have done this on purpose to throw the aussie off guard in their prep of indian batsman.
vamos_rafa Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 Typical of the Indian team. Aussies have already announced the XI. That way the guys who are playing are already mentally relaxed and prepared. Maybe the players who need to be relaxed have been informed. It need not come out to the media, does it?
rkt.india Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 [ hmm surprised Rahane is not part of the opening choices. Because Rahane is not selected as an opener and he is not an opener for his state side and even selectors have selected him as a middle order batsman. otherwise, they would not have selected two other openers in Vijay and Dhawan.
Lord Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 Because Rahane is not selected as an opener and he is not an opener for his state side and even selectors have selected him as a middle order batsman. otherwise' date=' they would not have selected two other openers in Vijay and Dhawan.[/quote'] but he is no.3 for his side,so used to facing new ball anyway.I'd much rather trust him then Vijay or Dhawan
rkt.india Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 but he is no.3 for his side' date='so used to facing new ball anyway.I'd much rather trust him then Vijay or Dhawan[/quote'] but they face new ball any way. We saw how Rahane fared against new ball in ODIs.
Lord Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 but they face new ball any way. We saw how Rahane fared against new ball in ODIs. Tests are different, hes better than both Vijay n Dhawan in facing red ball.was never a good List A player so ODI failures arent surprising
rkt.india Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 Tests are different' date='hes better than both Vijay n Dhawan in facing red ball.was never a good List A player so ODI failures arent surprising[/quote'] Vijay has a test 100 in India. Rahane is weak against pace. Little bit of pace and he dances all over. I dont see him survive as an opener.
Lord Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 Vijay has a test 100 in India. Rahane is weak against pace. Little bit of pace and he dances all over. I dont see him survive as an opener. Rahane has done well on A tours to England AFAIK.hes not that bad. anyway Vijay is a proven failure.the streaky ton in Irani trophy doesnt change anything, better try some one else who has a tighter technique and patience
G_B_ Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 well even if you look at ODI record Rahane has a better ODI/T20 record and average than either Dhawan or Vijay he is younger than Vijay or Dhawan has a better ranji average than Vijay or Dhawan being part of a victorious mumbai ranji team Murali vijay has had an abysmal ranji season. He probably got into the Irani squad through nepotism. He averaged 17 with the bat in the regular ranji season and was a big flop http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ranji-trophy-2012/engine/records/averages/batting_bowling_by_team.html?id=7515;team=2184;type=tournament with Rahane averaging nearly 55 http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ranji-trophy-2012/engine/records/averages/batting_bowling_by_team.html?id=7515;team=1654;type=tournament The fact is apart from the Irani trophy (in which Rahane was very unlucky to be given out but still scored 83) Vijay has been very poor.
rkt.india Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 Rahane has done well on A tours to England AFAIK.hes not that bad. anyway Vijay is a proven failure.the streaky ton in Irani trophy doesnt change anything, better try some one else who has a tighter technique and patience Even Rahane does not have tight game.
Lord Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 Even Rahane does not have tight game. still its tighter than Vijay or Dhawan
G_B_ Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 Vijay's selection especially is a joke. what are they trying to say? Score one century and then be crap all ranji and your in the side?
rkt.india Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 still its tighter than Vijay or Dhawan not until proven otherwise.
G_B_ Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 not until proven otherwise. Vijay has been a proven flop he has played 12 test matches and averages 30. what more do you want?
Lord Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 not until proven otherwise. proven in FC and A tours, deserves a shot in Tests. only guy I'd put ahead of Rahaane as an opener is Mukund, but hes not selected:doh:
