Sachin is going no where. Don't be surprised to see him play a couple of months of county cricket. I do hope that he retires from IPl and CLT20 though

At this age, it is all the more essential for me to keep playing whatever level of cricket he wants to play to stay in touch. Ranji and Irani matches have certainly helped him in first test. He did not play much cricket before NZ and England series that showed in his batting.

In my opinion, he should retire if there is a Bangladesh series before the SA series. If not, then this should be his last one and I hope he ends in a high. Deserves a really good series.

A likely recovery time will not be known until Bird has further tests but it is a worrying development for Australia in an Ashes year, given how well Bird's accurate seam-bowling style could translate to English conditions. Bird took 0 for 10 from 10 overs in the warm-up match against the Indian Board President's XI two weeks ago but was not picked for the first Test in Chennai. He flew home after the Test to have his back injury assessed and Australia's team doctor Peter Brukner said the results had shown a problem with his lower back. "Initial tests performed in Melbourne have confirmed that Jackson Bird has a bone stress injury of the low back," Brukner said. "He will undergo further tests tomorrow [Thursday]. He will not be re-joining the team in India." The loss of Bird leaves Australia with a 16-man squad ahead of the second Test, which starts in Hyderabad on Saturday. India was on the top of the world in both test and ODI, Sachin was in the form of his life, he could do no wrong at that time. It's hard to walk away from that more so when you have done nothing in life except cricket. This could actually be true. India don't play at home for a long time and chances are high that we will struggle abroad again. This might be the perfect opportunity for Sachin to go out if we win this series. The only thing that could hold him back is that he will be just shy of 200 tests. But he quit ODIs with 49 tons so you never know. It's quite probable. I dont think its true. India might play against Bangladesh in August at home .. would be a great chance for Sachin to go on a high.

carnish Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 may not be Tests Why not ... they were talking about a full tour and it means test. Plus Bangladesh have already played ODIs in India and hence first tour to India means it should be a test series.
