And other than the rain aspect, BC is the best place to live in the world. I consider Canada as very large 51st state of USA with a different (and more sensible) constitution. Seriously there is a reason why majority of the Canadian population lives near the 49th parallel.

Middle Canada (plains - Eastern Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba) is a bland place. BC and Western Alberta, Ontario and Quebec are top notch. East Coast is also nice but it is basically an outpost. And since Nature tourism is Canada's calling card, 4 provinces (these also house all the major metros) that I stated should be plenty enough. Besides travelling the the entire length of Canada on a shortened timescale isn't advised. (5000 km!) I haven't visited the 3 northern territories (but there is nothing up there other than cold and polar bears and seals).

There are endless beaches, nature walks and other sites of natural beauty. The whole country, both the north and south islands, can be thought of as large nature sanctuaries untouched by modern industrialisation. Does all this make it the greatest nation? Bhutan too is tucked away in a corner, isolated from most of the world's problems. With a grand total of just 7 lakh people, pollution/corruption/violent crime and other problems plaguing most developed countries are just negligible to nil. There are snow capped himalayas, deep ravines, forested hills and other sites of natural beauty. The whole country, both the northern highlands and the southern hills can be thought of as a large nature santuary, untouched by modern industrialization. They even have a dragon on their flag. The dragon then tilts it in Bhutan's favour. Greatest nation ever.

And when we talk about education, this includes education from nursery to higher education.

Dont get me wrong, I love my India to death, but I dont think I can ever go around calling her the 'greatest nation on earth..' with a clear conscience. We are a deeply flawed society with a long way to go in terms of nation building.

No? Personally, its India. Not because of all the great history, culture etc etc (I am proud of that but there are other civilizations that have an equally impressive resume too). I love India because of the sheer dichotomy and the perspective that she brings to anyone who lives there. I love India for in one day,, you can go from obscene opulence to the other extreme and you are on your toes trying to make it big as you get to see the extremes. We are one of the most internally flawed societies but are proud of what we have and work harder than any tom dick or harry around the world. Having lived in the UK for sometime now, the things that people here take for granted are almost luxuries in India and despite that people smile while taking it in their strides. The idiots who scourge on benefits here do not have a reason or direction in life whereas even the average child in a slum in India would be more ambitious and happy in life. I think, Sebastian Vettel put it brilliantly when asked about his thoughts on India, " even though people have so little here, in a way they are richer than the people in Europe" And, Yes am saying this sitting in the UK but I have made a decision to go back this year. I am an optimist and I hope everything turns out well.
