the don Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 why the emphasis on odi cricket historically , why is test cricket not given similar importance in india? PS: A pak fan here so you are free to accuse me of trolling .:haha:
CG Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 why the emphasis on odi cricket historically , why is test cricket not given similar importance in india? PS: A pak fan here so you are free to accuse me of trolling .:haha: Because we suck at test cricket and are decent in odis.
Number Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 I am not too sure if w/l ratio is a be-all and end-all metric. India draw a lot of games due to good batting and playing in batting conditions usually.
the don Posted January 19, 2013 Author Posted January 19, 2013 ]I am not too sure if w/l ratio is a be-all and end-all metric. India draw a lot of games due to good batting and playing in batting conditions usually. It certainly is not but draws dont hurt your win loss , defeats do .
NareshK Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 Lack of phasssssst bowlers. With all your so called phassst bowlers, Pakistan still lost 8-0 in World Cup against India and won as many tests as India in South Africa and Australia and yet to win a test series in West Indies. :hysterical: Most of the so called phassst bowlers you have are raw with no real quality and they get exposed as worthless after a season or two in international cricket.
jairamesh Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 lack of quality bowlers, lack of quality batsmen, lack cheating home umpires, lack of players cheating, but at least India have been number 1 officially (only matched by Aus, SA, Eng), and won two WCs (only matched by Aus, WI), and 1 World T20 (only matched by WI, Pak, Eng). So it seems India stand alone above all having done all. So I am pretty content what has been achieved by us despite our apparent handicap.
BeautifulGame Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 why the emphasis on odi cricket historically , why is test cricket not given similar importance in india? Sandeep99 Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 We sucked in tests till 2000, had a good-decent period from 2000-2007, great period from 07-10 and started sucking again from 2010 and hence that... Not rocket science, is it?>
vamos_rafa Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 Because our kaptaan does not like test cricket.

Pak in zim wl ratio =6, india 1.5 pak in wi: 0.45, india 0.31 pak in eng: 0.47, india 0.18 pak in sa: 0.33, india 0.28 pak in aus: 0.19, india 0.19 pak in nz: 2, india 0.71 pak in sl: 1.20, india 0.66 pak in india: 0.71 india in pak: 0.28
Pagalpanti Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 Feck W/L, Feck tests! We are 3 time world champions something only 2 other teams can boast off. :two_thumbs_up:

Sarkar Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 pak fans in your history you were never a no 1 team despite having fast bowlers bottle openers vaseline caps mints etc
jairamesh Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 lack of quality bowlers, lack of quality batsmen, lack cheating home umpires, lack of players cheating, but at least India have been number 1 officially (only matched by Aus, SA, Eng), and won two WCs (only matched by Aus, WI), and 1 World T20 (only matched by WI, Pak, Eng). So happy for pakis to drool over their w/l ratios. :hysterical:
Number Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 ^ Pakistan never been no. 1 even in ODIs ? :omg:
Trundler27 Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 I think they are ranked no.1 in trying to kill the visiting team... just ask mendis and parnavithana they may also be no. 1 in having played most 'home' games in a neutral venue On a side note, our w/l ratio is poor largely due to the lack of aggression. The only two aggressive captains I remember from watching cricket and cricket documentaries were pataudi and ganguly. Just imagine Dhobi not going for a chase recently in Windies when he very well knew how poorly we have done there historically (80 odd runs in 15-16 overs against their crappy bowling line-up).
